Why can't people send in response cards? Just a vent

I know this has been posted before with each cycle of brides that get married. I have 4 days left for the response deadline and will have to call over 50 people to find out if they are coming. Do people not get it that you have to pay the caterer another deposit and contract for a certain number of people??? It is not that difficult to sign your name and say yes or no. It already has a stamp on it so it just needs to be dropped in the box, it is getting very frustrating. I am just venting!!!!!

You know it's funny...NO....people DON'T get it. It drives me nuts that so many people do this, yet so many are so CLUELESS as to basic etiquette!

But don't worry, I guarantee you will get a windfall of response cards the day before, and the day after, the response date.

I was just complaining to Mark about this last night. I don't get it, it has the da** stamp on it, just mail it already!!!! We probably have about 30 people left to go with the 7th as our respond by date. I spoke to my sister a couple of weeks ago, still hadn't received hers, or her adult kids, which would be 8 people total. Her reply 'you know we are all coming, but my niece may not be able to due to finals', so obviously they all may NOT be coming. Can I tell you, I still have not received them back from her, and that's immediate family. Makes you want to scream

Because People are RUDE!!!!!! We had to 'chase' a lot of people. They weren't all no's either. I would be embarrased if somebody had to call me up. But nobody we had to call seemed bothered!

I feel your pain You will probably get a big batch of cards mailed the day the response was due.

I agree!! I am waiting for 30% of my RSVP's.

Another gripe, I sent out my invitations on September 29th - I just received one back that had the wrong address. It takes 5 weeks for the post office to return the invitation!!!!! Now I have to get the right address and send it out ASAP!!!!!

Today's my RSVP date and I'm still missing at least 30 replies. I'm very aggravated about this also. Like we have so much extra spare time these last few weeks to call rude people who can't put a self addressed stamped envelope in the mail.

It gets worse. Wait until people start calling and casually asking who they will be sitting with and/or telling you who they don't want to be sitting with.

My wedding is in 10 days.. my response date was 3 weeks ago and still 6 ppl have not sent back there cards.
When called ( by my dad) he was told 'oh yea, I'm still not sure yet'.
I dont understand.

Oh, It gets MUCH worse!!!
I felt the same way as all of you when I was at that stage!!
Get this... The day of the wedding we had 13 people not show after responding 'yes'!
We still haven't heard from these people with explanations!! Not that it matters we are still out $1300!!!
The wedding was 5 1/2 weeks ago and I still can't get over it!! Talk about RUDE!
I didn't let it get to me on my day but it still makes me crazy!!

We got about 20% AFTER the response date.....alot of them yesses. For some reason, people drop them in the mailbox ON the REPLY DATE......rather than before. Another rude thing.....and be prepared, I hope it doesnt happen to any of you but we had two guests 'forget' to bring us a gift, and its been almost 2 mos and still no gift, not even a card! Personally I think it's tacky to attend a wedding and not even bring a card.

edited to say: actually 2 couples (meaning 4 guests or 4 plates! ) UGHH! Thankfully we didnt have any no shows.

I have alot of people from out of town and i'm also getting 'tentative' yeses. If the weather's good we'll come, but if they predict a storm than we'll have to cancel. How do I account for that?
