Yeah, women's and gay's rights are something to snooze about. It's not at all conflicting to have a President who confuses church and state.

your argument is what is making me snooze.

Maybe you wouldn't be snoozing if you were a lesbian. Than maybe you would care about women and gay rights.

Re: Why Kerry

I work for a legal publisher and our sis company is a tax publisher so I know a bit about tax policy. Kerry def. underestimated the Bush tax cuts - I think almost everyone got a reduction down to 12k a yr....

http://www.cch.com/BushTaxPlan/TaxBracketChanges.htm

Of cuorse, all ppl may not agree with getting a tax cut, but I liked it!

And I think people need to realize partial-abortion is ONLY done when the woman's life is at risk. This isn't something that's practiced everywhere. That is why it shouldn't be completely banned. It sounds barbaric, but a woman shouldn't have to give up her life for her baby if she doesn't want to.

Description of a partial birth abortion:
Starts with mechanical dilation of the cervix...on average, this takes 3 days. After adequate dilation, the doctor using forceps enters the uterus and turns the baby around in a breech position for delivery. Later, while the head is still in the birth canal, the doctor introduces a pair of sharp scissors which are jabbed into the baby's skull. The scissors are spread apart to enlarge the opening in the skull, for a plastic tube which is inserted to suck out the fetal brains. The skull collapses, allowing the fetus to be pulled out of the womb. Dilating the cervix, forcing a breech position, and introducing sharp scissors in the birth canal all put the mother at risk, rather than help her medically.

A prominent abortion clinic doctor who has performed over 1000 partial birth abortions over several years. He reports that over 80% of partial birth abortions are elective, without any medical reason.'

Can you state where you get this information from?

No matter when it's used, I don't think it should be banned. I think it should be allowed in situations where the mother's health is at risk.

if the baby is past 25 weeks gestation they can survive outside the womb, so if the mothers life was in danger, why would they need to kill the baby to save her? couldnt they dialate her cervix and deliever the baby alive??? It makes no sense, if a woman has gone that far into her pregnancy wouldnt you think she want to do all she can to save her baby?

Re: Why Kerry

I dont know why so many people harp on that whole FLIP FLOP thing,

Wouldnt you want to be able to mature and change your mind as you become more intelligent or informed??

I mean - Kerry didnt flip flop something within a week or even a month.....were talking years between his change of stance.

A lot of times birth defects cannot be detected until the second trimester. When this happens, some women want to abort rather than go through the emotional pain of having the baby.

Kerry did support the war. He didn't support the way Bush went about it which I agree with. I think it could have been planned out better. It has lasted longer than it should be lasting.

Re: Why Kerry

no 'wrong war wrong place wrong time' something along those lines, great thing to say as it is being broadcasted to the men and women who give up every right they have to fight for this country.

I wonder why our military men don't support Kerry

ummm you are not worth cursing over because as I stated earlier this is only a forum and unlike some people I don't let it rule my life. As for speaking to every man in the unit, I speak to many of the men in my FH's unit and not one of them was for Kerry. I happen to send care packages and letters every other week and get many replies from them. I have asked every single one of them whom I spoke to because I wanted to do what was right for THEM so yea I spoke to plenty of them and men in other units as well. Thats what military family support forums are for and they were all for Bush.

Re: Why Kerry

just a few quotes from the military wives support forum

I'm ecstatic that Bush is still our president! Who is with me?! Yay for election 2004!!

Now its time to go check the mail to see if I got a letter from my favorite boy!!

THANK THE LORD for the end of the election, and I'm GLAD BUSH WON~~! This is not really anything that should spark debate, as it's just FACTUAL. Either ya say yay or ya dont' agree

GO BUSH GO BUSH!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! I am so happy!!!!

LOL I didn't find out that Bush won until 1... I had been in classes all day and when somebody said something about 'Bush won' I almost fell out of my chair! This morning when I left Kerry was leading in FL... and I got the news I wanted to hear! YES!
