I really feel like this is a reason for the boards dying down a little bit lately. There seems to have been so much more going on when I first started coming on here. I don't know how true it is, but I read in a past post that vendors are notified when their name is used in a post, which I didn't really believe until I read a post from another bride addressing that their phone call was never returned, and saw the vendor themselves respond to it mixed in the comments. This is why I FM everything that pertains any kind of opinion. It also sucks though, because for example, I have a vendor I would like to ask a question about on here but it includes a complaint and I don't want them to necessarily be aware of it.

I posted a few times about a wonderful experience that I had with a vendor and the other vendor that I didn't go with called me... although he wasn't mean he just called me out for raving about another vendor and then asked me a bunch of questions about why I went with someone else over him when it was the same tux... it made me feel extremely uncomfortable and made me not want to rave on here anymore knowing that vendorsement are scrolling through this and willing to call people who already signed contracts with other vendors!

I don't know if vendors are notified but one of mine admitted they check the site regularly. I did recommend them, so they were pleased lol :)

Crazy... I posted a while back about how I went into a vendor to book and he actually brought up something I posted. I had posted something about being between 2 vendors that I liked a lot but ultimately chose him due to pricing. He actually told me about it when FH and I sat down to sign the paperwork... I almost walked out. But he said the other vendor was great and he had worked with him in the past and enjoys working with him!


TL:DR - Vendors get notified anytime we mention their names.

Wow this is ridiculous and so unprofessional for them to bring up things we say here on the forums. As long as the reviews are honest, they should be allowed here so we can make up our own minds about them. For shame!

So I just got FM from a limo company saying they read my post about needing a limo for my wedding, which I posted about two weeks ago. I don't really like being solicited on here! I had no idea this goes on. Makes me not want to post questions to other BRIDES!

This really does not make me happy. I kinda don't feel comfortable posting about venues/vendors anymore!

Yes! I got this from a travel agent on here once when I was part of a thread about travel agents vs booking yourself. Def not cool! I feel like I can't say anything about anyone on here now and if I do, it has to be super positive! I care too much what my vendors think of me lol. I also noticed that my vote and comment for best of 2015 for one of my vendors was turned into a 5 star review on their liw page. Idk if that was liw or the vendor, but I don't like it. My wedding didn't even happen yet, can I please get the chance to write my own review??

Which is why LIWeddings was SUPPOSED to be a great site, not just reviews but you can ask a real person about their opinion. But not so, apparently. Shameful.

I think they should be able to see all the forums, all posts, good and bad, and take the bad reviews as constructive criticism. I don't think they should be able to post blatant advertising when and where it's not wanted/needed however.
