Why your month...

Was wondering some of the reasons that people chose their month/dates for the wedding? Or did you not have much of a choice

We were originally going to do late May/June so we can save up a bit more, but April was the only day where the room we wanted was available, so we just did it! I'm happy I did because I can't imagine waiting an extra 2 months!

I love the cold and Christmas...it has that romantic cozy feeling and I wanted a way to bring that to my wedding. So a christmas wedding in December it is!

I always knew I wanted a fall wedding and FH was on board when I told him so we chose October. We picked the 9th for 2 reasons - a) it's the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend so we got cheaper prices and b) it's my grandparents anniversary. They've been married 62 years so I figured the day has to have some kind of luck

FH and I knew we wanted June b/c we started dating June 1st, got engaged on June 4th and will now get married June 10th..June is a good month for us! AND its not too hot or too cool..hopefully (crossing fingers) right in the middle..I hate to sweat!!

Well we knew we wanted it in the Spring , cause as we all know my fav flower is the peony. However, the MS walk is always held on the first Sunday in May and instead of walking this year with all my friends and family we will all be at the wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted a spring wedding! I love the spring! But I didn't want it too early, I wanted the end of May or early June for the nicer weather. We found out we could get a discount for the Fri of Memorial Day weekend, so that became our day!

Originally it was going to be Memorial Day weekend of 2012. However, FH thought that was too far away. So we decided on August 5, 2011 because I have off in the summer and he gets paid week vacation in the summer. Also, its the first Friday in August. I wanted us to have enough time for a honeymoon before work starts back up for me.

we originally wanted May '12 but we want to start a family soon so we decided to move the wedding to an earlier date...Sep '11 and Sep is not hot or cold so that was a lovely month as well

I hate being hot! So october is our month cause I won't be terribly hot!!! Plus the foliage is gorgeous!!

as teachers we needed to look at what weekend would mean the fewest days taken off (we wanted to honeymoon right away) - so we booked the weekend before the jewish holidays because we don't have to work and we aren't jewish so we only have to take off 3 days from work!

FH graduate on Memorial Day weekend, my high school friend is getting married June 11, we move to Manhattan in early June, FH starts his new job August 1...and we wanted to take a 3 week trek through Europe!

That left us at June 25. Right after my mom and sister grade the Spanish regents. They are a tad cranky.

We wanted May because of the weather, but the date was booked. I wanted out dating anniversary date 6/20 but it didn't fall on a weekend, so we compromised the first weekend in June (6/4/11). We love the beach and wanted beach themed.

FH wanted a spring wedding and I wanted a fall wedding but it was too close to his birthday so we settled for summer!

We were originally going with another date but FH loved the way 8-11-11
sounded :)

I just love the fall

I wanted 11-11-11 but it was already booked at Crest Hollow, so we picked the week before because daylight savings time ends on November 6th and I wanted that extra hour of light plus, this way, we’re going on a 15 day honeymoon, and coming back 3 days before thanksgiving! What a great way to start a life together

FH and I had a very difficult time deciding when we were going to get married. Orginally we were going with a november or december wedding, but when we realized how much it was going to cost, we pushed back our date and decided if we were going to wait, we might as well go all out and do a summer wedding!

Also after we booked the date we realized that the day we are getting married ( June 26th) is our 14th anniversary of the day we met... pretty crazy

I orginally wanted June because its usually that happy medium of not to hot and not to cold but unless I was doing it on fh birthday and he had already given up one birthday because he purposed on his birthday and everything else was booked for saturday night and I wanted summer and couldnt do august because I had planned a wedding for august before it was called off by my ex's mother so I felt it was a jinx if I did it then. I love the summer and the beach and wanted to take my pictures there so July it was.

i wanted a sunday where everyone was off the next day....i loved the idea of memorial day weekend

im a teacher too and as long as there are no snow days im off the friday b4 and the monday & tuesday after
