Why your month...

Was wondering some of the reasons that people chose their month/dates for the wedding? Or did you not have much of a choice

We were originally going to do late May/June so we can save up a bit more, but April was the only day where the room we wanted was available, so we just did it! I'm happy I did because I can't imagine waiting an extra 2 months!

i had originally wanted to get married on May 29th, the day that FH and i started dating.
It would have worked out perfectly for 2011 b/c it falls on a sunday, but FH was paranoid that people would not come to the wedding because its a holiday weekend. i couldn't convince him otherwise so we went with June 12th, the only Sunday our RH had left in June.

we were originally going to get married sept/oct 2010. there were few dates that were available when we visited RH's, so we decided to wait until spring 2011 (gives us more time to save too!)

We were going to do april 30th bc we figured the rates went up in May. but our RH's prices stay the same, so we just decided to go with mid may

I wanted a summer wedding and my mom being a teacher said she preferred july or august. i then found out which dates the RH had available and figured out when I would not have my period and booked august 6th lol

i wanted a spring wedding, but I didn't want to pay spring wedding prices.

My RH said I could book for April 8th, but then the owner said that he would let me book the 29th for the same price bc of the extras I wanted. So I get a better chance of fairly warm weather.

ok so i chose my month because it would give us enough time to plan, find a place to live, and all the relatives would be back from their trips (they take annually to europe)

my FIL said it might be too early (Sept) , but i didnt want it any later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We chose the day because the week before is Columbus Day weekend and a jewish holiday I believe...

We were going for Columbus Day weekend, but Yom Kippur falls on that weekend next year.

I tried to convince FH to push it to 2012, but we've already been engaged over 2 years, so he told me no

we were planning a 2012 wedding when we first got engaged... then thanksgiving weekend FHs father said he thought 2012 was too long a wait and would help us pay for it if we moved it..

so we first wanted October 30 2010 and have kinda a Halloween theme FH and i were the only ones that liked the idea ...(i would be getting married in 4 days) then it was 12.11.10 just because of the numbers but we were told the're are so many Christmas parties around that time so we moved it once again to 01.08.11 there is no meaning really but it is two days before the day FH proposed.

Originally FH and I had wanted to do a July or August wedding (I actually wouldn't have minded a Fall wedding but we didn't want to wait any longer and we couldn't do it in Fall 2010).

The reason we chose to move it up is because a lot of his family will be traveling from England and Ireland and the airfare in the summertime is ridiculous! It would be a lot cheaper for them to travel in May.

I originally wanted a fall wedding but we got engaged in Oct of 2009 and FH thought that one year was not enough time to plan everything and I didn't want to wait 2 years to get married. We picked Feb 18th because that is our dating anniversary date and it worked for us.

i wanted something between both he and my bday . He is in may and I am in august so I really wanted the end of June but most of the halls were already book so I got July 2. I am happy with it because when everyone asks when is the wedding. I say 7 2 11 and they always confuse that for the time of the wedding instead of the actual date

I wanted a warm month but my FH's bday in June and mine is in September. We both love the summer. So August it was:)

I wanted to get married in the SNOW!!!!! FH was not having that! So he said Summer and I was like NOOO way! So we compromised and came up with September which is a beautiful month so Im happy... Plus I got my wish... we are going to be in freezing cold temps and snow for our honeymoon! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well it started out I wanted to get married in like march, then my mother objected because it might snow and be gross out, which she convinced me, then I didn't want a fall wedding, or a summer wedding, which really left april, may and june, my mom said I couldn't get married in the church in april due to easter and all that, and then I always hated june as a month, so may it was, then choosing the date, I didn't want mothers day weekend, or anything in the 20's so that left me with 13,14,15 and were having a sunday wedding sooo....

September has always been my fav month. Not too sure why...but I know I hate the cold and I hate the heat....September seems so perfect for me...originally wanted 9/23 but my church was not available so 9/30/11 it is

Originally I had wanted a fall wedding, but my sister is a teacher and lives in western Canada, so it would be hard for her to make it without taking a ton of time off. My mom and a lot of my friends also are teachers or work in schools so it just seemed easier to have a summer wedding. I am a little worried about the heat though, especially because I sweat like a boy

we wanted a fall month and oct is a special month for the both of us and we decided on columbus weekend bec FH family lives further away so it will be easier for ppl to stay since they will have monday off
