Why your reception hall

What was the 'selling point' of the hall you chose? What makes it perfect for you?

Because the BM we met with didn't try to sell it to us like we were buying a used car...like some other BMs did.

We loved the grounds and the price was also right for us

honestly FH and I fell in love with a different hall - my parents loved this hall and FH and I didn't want any fight or unpleasantness - we love each other and just want to get married and we will have a phenomenal time regardless!

I do really like the skyroom we have and always loved castles and knights in shining armor - but we are woodwork fireplaces and lots of windows people - i dont like all the gold mirrors and marble - which is where all the pictures will be taken but I will survive

The people there are so nice and the room is beautiful and I've heard wonderful things about them which is getting me more enthusiastic!!

We felt the same way about our place.

What place did you want?

Re: Why your reception hall

We were looking for a room with a lower minimum, and we loved the Garden Room at WM. It wasn't even set -- the tables were all along a wall, but I could picture our reception there completely. We went back later that day to have dinner there, and saw the room set for a wedding with chair covers and everything. I knew it was the one for us right then.

Foxhollow - garden terrace room for reception and i think its called the winter pavillion room for CH - we just loved all the windows - the hotel right next door with the bridal suite - and especially all of the indoor opportunities for pictures!! the food was phenomenal too and I knew the in house florist and he was going to give me a deal and get anything i wanted if we booked fox hollow!

We were dissapointed but wanted my parents to be happy - it all works out in the end!

I love many aspects of my hall, but the Estate in my opinion is simply elegant and beautiful... I LOVE THE cocktail hour rooms...i think it is the most romantic and beautiful setting, the food is delicious too

when i walked into the foyer area...i said...Oh my goodness...this is it. i fell in love with it immediately...

WOW i sound cheesy- but it is so true

I liked how at Jericho Terrace so many of the rooms had outdoor elements inside (especially the CH room, with thayched ceiling and vines hanging). I would love to get married outdoors, but this way I don't have to worry about the weather.

Re: Why your reception hall

Well, for us it depended alot on the fact that we knew we wanted an outdoor wedding. When we went to Orient, we both just fell in love with it. It had everything we were looking for and more. They are very acommodating as far as our reception as well, for instance, we are having a pig roast which many places won't allow, and it being a State Park, we were concerned about the alcohol not being allowed either, but we were assured with the proper permit, it would be fine!
And that's our story!

I loved the selection of food. Between that and the price it was a winner.

Well.. usually my fioncee lets me make all the decisions.. well, I kind of have to run it by him before we actually finalize any decisions. When we saw Leonards, he insisted we go with it!! The price was great for what we are getting and the place is gorgeous!!!

Food! The staff is soooo sweet. And no one in my family has really attended a wedding there before (including myself and FH).

I really liked out BM as well as the idea of being the only event. We liked the feel of the place and it accomodated our wants and needs better than most of the other halls. We also liked the one event at a time selling point. The price was great for the saturday night we chose and the other halls couldn't meet what we were getting for the price and minimum signed for.

Re: Why your reception hall

My reception site was not my first choice, but I have too many people to invite, so I had to go with best price per person. Although I have read a lot of negative posts on this site about the Huntington Townhouse, I have to say I haven't, so far, been dissatisfied in anyway with them.

For us it was the view - we'll be celebrating our cocktail hour on the beach at sunset (if the weather cooperates) - what could be better than that?! Also, it's basically where I grew up, so the entire area really means a lot to me.
