I strongly recommend getting all four out at once and being put to sleep for it!
It didn't hurt at the time, but it sure did for the next few days!

Ditto - had all four pulled at once, not too bad. I was up and running the next day - just a little sore. Make sure you go for the twilight sedation - you won't feel a thing!

I had two done at one time, one another (I still have the other one). I think it's better to do them separately. Get two done on the same side of your mouth so that you can chew on the other for the next couple of days. It's really not bad (and mine were really impacted and came out in pieces, so trust me!). I remember feeling fine 2 days later.

I had my top ones pulled as a kid and it didn't hurt at all. That and the fact that I ate icecream for 3 days straight made it a not so bad experience. I was awake for mine.

Re: Wisdom teeth question...Please help!!
I had three out at once. I had novacaine plus sweet air. It didn't hurt so much during the procedure-- just the prick oft he needle forte novacaine. The sound of the teeth being pulled was kind of creepy, but under the influence of the sweet air, all I wanted to do is laugh. And the more I realized it was inappropriate to laugh, the more I wanted to laugh at myself. I never had sweet air before, so it was quite an experience ;)
Afterward there was a lot of soreness. Two of them got better very quickly, but the third gave me trouble for at least a week after.
You should get as many out as possible at one time--especially if you are planning to be put out for it. There's no reason to have more anesthesia than necessary.
Good luck!

Same here. I did all 4 and was put to sleep. Easy, not too much pain, and I didn't have to worry about going back to do it again for the other ones!

I had all 4 pulled at once and recommend you do the same. It is not so bad if you get put under. Expect some swelling and to eat soft foods for a few days because of soreness.

Ladybug...you and I are in the same position! I feel mine starting to hurt, now I just need to get to the dentist to have him confirm that I need it pulled. Right now its just the one, so hopefully that'll be it. Good luck!

Re: Wisdom teeth question...Please help!!
I had one taken out with just novacaine, which turned out to be a horrible experience b/c despite being numbed I could still feel the dentist pulling out the tooth. A couple of years later when another of my wisdom teeth started to bother me, I went to an oral surgeon who put me out and took the remaining three out. That experience was generally a lot better, but I did get nauseous afterwards-- not sure if it was b/c of being out or not. Recovery isn't a big deal-- you have minor problems eating certain foods for a couple of days, and then you'll be fine.

Re: Wisdom teeth question...Please help!!
Had all four of mine removed at once. Was sedated for it. Felt NOTHING that day at all (was a noon appt)
The next day I was groggy and slightly sore, but I iced my cheecks to death. Honeslty I was all better in less than two days, not including all the follow up of course.
Was back at work that next Monday.
I had severely impacted wisdom teeth. They said later they had to leave a small piece in because it was impossible to reach. Been fine ever since. Though I wish SOMEONE, ANYONE had warned me about the 'pockets'.

I had all four out at the same time. It wasnt too bad - I was put to sleep. The only problem that I had was the pills that they gave me afterwards for the pain - they made me nauseous so I stopped taking them and I was fine the next day. It only hurt a little bit and all of mine were impacted.

I had all 4 done at once and had anesthesia. Mine were also impacted. It hurt a lot the first 2 days. I'm glad I got them all done and over with at once. My FH had 2 done and he was not knocked out but he said he didn't feel the pain until a few hours later. He actually passed out afterwards on his way out of the room and all the employees came running out. He said he wishes that he had the anesthesia.

I had all 4 done at the same time. I was put to sleep and didn't feel a think. I had no bruising and it did not hurt - it was just a little uncomfortable for a few days afterwards...

Re: Wisdom teeth question...Please help!!
I had one out so far and maybe will have to get another one out, part of it is chipped but the dentist told me if it is not bothering me not to bother it. He also told me it is like an appendix, you do not need wisdom teeth. The other one was a nightmare, I had a nerve exposed. I remember begging the dentist for the novacaine. I also had sweet air. I had never had sweet air before. I kept insisting that I knew what was going on, but I am not too sure I did, I felt very relaxed. I did bleed a lot afterwards but that was becuase I had taken an anti inflamatory the night before I was in so much pain. So that contributed to the bleeding. I felt a little woozy afterwards and remember going home and sleeping, I also had a pocket. It was kind of yucky that I had this, food got stuck in it , also I was not able to brush my teeth for the day so that was kind of gross! But I survived and ate ice cream, jello, applesauce- which was the most soothing of all becuase it was sweet and I had been bleeding and it helped me feel not as light headed from bleeding becuase of the sugar , and egg drop soup, that was warmish. I was back on my feet by the end of day 2. Sorry if I was graphic, but that was my experience with getting a wisdom tooth out. My dentist told me it would take longer to get the tooth numb then to take it out, and he was right. Good luck getting them out.

Re: Wisdom teeth question...Please help!!
Hi! I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled at the same time. I was knocked out and I came home that afternoon and had soup and for dinner I had mashed potatoes. I didn't have swelling. It varies from person to person. If you want a recomendation, I would have them done at the same time so you won't have to go through it again
