I will need to keep working, even after the baby is born. I am the breadwinner of my family

Re: WORKING AFTER MARRIAGE
I was wondering why people say that they Cant see themselves not working that they'd go crazy. Especially if they have a baby. How do you know you wont enjoy it if you've never tried it? lol

Re: WORKING AFTER MARRIAGE
I will work after I get married but once I have kids I will have to work out a new work schedule so that I am home with them most of the time and go to work after my husband gets home. Long Island is really expensive so it is hard to not have two salaries. FH says he'll work two jobs but I am not crazy about that for the sake of him getting drained out.

Re: WORKING AFTER MARRIAGE
hmmm... think i'd stop working for a few years after having a kid but once they're off to school, i'll probably work again PT or maybe get into a business where i'd be able to manage my time around the kids schedule

Maybe because you know yourself. I was around a little bit when my mom was taking care of my now 8 year old sister. The fact that I'm at home now and have been since the end of July, and been going crazy since uh the first week of August! I'm one of those people that's always going. I worked throughout college, in law school. Having lots of free time (unless I'm away on vacation) is not enjoyable to me. I also think for many people (there was aNYT article about this) tend to do what their own mother did if they feel that it worked for them. My mom stayed home for a year with me and only 4 months with my little sister. She's always worked and been a fantastic mom so I am sort of following in her footsteps. That added to the fact that I'll most likely make more than FH, ensures I'll be working for a long time.

Re: WORKING AFTER MARRIAGE
Well it all depends. We were thinking of moving to his home town in Illinois where 5 bedroom homes for 150k. IF we do then I will be able to be a stay at home mom.
