Worst time of my life

Hey girls.. just to give a quick update. i havent been on in a while because my mom is very very ill. she is 45 and called me from home just saying help help from her cell on thurs. now living 45 min away i tried to get to her as fast as i could dispatching an ambulance at the same time. she was rushed to the ER where she was found to have a bleed in the brain. She was transfered to north shore university hospital. they ended up intubating her and she was heavly sedated for the last 2 days and was extubated last night. last night was a rough night for her as far as oxygen and they were talking of putting her back on the vent. I didnt leave her bedside at all... last few nights and she was doing well today and was talking.still unable to swollow but new what was going on. she told me to go home and get some sleep and so i did as she wished and now feel so guilty for leaving her. Everyone please pray tommorow we determine the type of surgery that is going to be used to save her life. thanks in advance for everything. im sooo scared and dont know what i should be doin.

I know what you are going through. My father was in ICU for 13 weeks a few years ago on a breathing machine the whole time and it was the worst time of my life. I was by his side every day, FM me if you need to talk

PS: my dad is 100% better now so try to stay positive

Im so sorry for your mom! (and you!)

Just remember, the best and only thing you can do is be there to support her. And don't feel bad leaving to get some rest. You can't be there for her if you're exhausted!

I'm praying for your family!

OMG....I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. I will pray for your mom and hope that she makes a very speedy recovery. Please keep us posted.

My prayers are with you. I will tell you that my dad had a bleed outside the brain (subdural hematoma) on 9/28, they performed surgery the next day. It was scary for a while, and he was in ICU for about 2 weeks, he wasn't able to talk, couldn't find the right words, couldn't remember where he was, etc, but today he is fine! I know your mom will be okay!

I agree 100% with kahlua, she is right. You are doing right by your mom, but you need to get some rest because if you don't you will only make yourself run down. I've been through this myself with my mom, I know what you are going through. My prayers are with you and your family.
