I wouldn't care at all. I don't care if FMIL came in jeans and a T-Shirt. JMO

Nope. I woudn't be mad at all. My FMIL is not a young lady and she is not going to wear the same style as my BMs. She is also not slim (not FAT, but not slim). I know she would wear something age and size appropriate as would my own mother.

I was concerned about this at first b/c FMIL wants to get her dress soon and I haven't decided on my BM dresses, and don't want to be limited once she gets her dress. But, then someone pointed out to me, she won't be in photos with your girls. It may be a little annoying, but quite honestly, in the grand scheme of things, I really don't think it matters. Hopefully the cut of her dress isn't too similar.

I would be mad if she wore white, the color of the BM dresses, or the same color as my mom.

It doesn't matter to me at all! I am definitely not worrying about what the mothers are wearing.

Re: Would you be mad if. . . .
Actually, my mother and MIL both matched the bridesmaids. They weren't in the same shade of purple, but it was purple, nonetheless. I have been to so many weddings where the brides want their mothers to match the wedding party, b/c they are part of it. At my sister's wedding, our mother and her MIL both wore navy blue and the girls were in light blue. I don't think it's a problem at all. Also, in the Jewish religion, the mothers walk their children down the aisle, so it looks nice when they are all in the same color. Here's a pic of my BMs and one of our parents so you can see.
well my mil originally was wearing a different color, but the night before the rehearsal dinner she called and said she didn't like it at all and was changing her dress to the same color as my girls.
At first I was upset, but in the end it really didn't matter. It was a totally different dress, just the same color. She ended up wearing a different colored wrap over it...that's always an option (depending on the time of year.)
Don't sweat those things, speaking from experience, on the actual day all that will matter will be you and your husband, not the color of anyone's dress. And it ended up looking great in the pictures!
Good luck and best wishes

I don't think I'd be 'mad' but I'd stronly prefer that she didn't. Especially because my Bridesmaids are wearing champagne and ivory.

Definitly would not be mad!!! I would be mad if MIL was planning on wearing white,,but not if she is wearing the same color as the bm's... my bm's are wearing mocha and moh is wearing champagne.
IS the dress the EXACT color as your bm's?
I want my MIL and Mother to feel beautiful on our day and wouldnt want them to wear a dress in a color that they arent happy with..
