Wear jewlrey from an ex??
My friend's girlfriend loves a (really expensive Tiffany's) ring she got from her ex and won't give it up, even though she's been with my friend for a year now!
I say, pawn it and go on vacation! It's just wrong!
PS- My ex jewlery was all given away to friends

I have a ring from an ex that FI knows about and I wear it from time to time. It's beautiful. Means nothing to me from the ex, just a nice piece of jewelry. FI doesn't care. I do have my necklace, with ex name and mine and date (back from the EARLY 90's!) in my jewelery box - all this stuff is from my past but it's still part of my life. I don't feel the need to sell it or give it away, neither does FI.

On any given day, my mother is wearing earings or a bracelet or something given to me by an ex. One pair of earings I didn't even have a month before I gave them to her!

Come to think of it, I have a bracelet and earrings at home that I should give her...

I don't but only because I never received jewelry that was so nice that I would want to keep it.

But I'm with Suzanne, if someone (ex or otherwise) gave me a piece of jewelry that I just really liked, I'd still wear it, for no other reason than because I liked it...and it wouldn't have any other meaning than that (unless it was an e-ring because that's obviously symbolic...)

I have a bracelet from my ex that I still wear & FH has a cross from an ex that he still wears. I don't see he problem with it... we like the jewlery, not the person who gave them to us.

Nope. Brian took all I had and I haven't seen it since. He replaced each item he took with something new which was nice.

I got alot of very nice jewlery from the ex and still have it. My FI doesnt mind. He knows he has my heart and I am going to be his wife. It's just jewlery. As long as it doesnt mean anything, their is nothing wrong with wearing it.

ebay.com...why didn't I think of that?!?! I have some pieces sitting around from a horrible ex that I would never touch. I'd love to get rid of that stuff. I do have one nice silver braclet that I love that I still wear. I don't think DH knows where any of my jewelry came from (except what he has given me!).

I do not look at it as a gift from a ex, I look at it as a gift. I have one bracelet the xoxoxox gold and I do not wear it anymore, the only reason is that I do not wear gold anymore. I do not see anything wrong with it, as long as you are not comparing your present gift your present person gives to you vs. what your ex gave to you then all is well.

I do...and my FI has no problem with it.
They are things that I picked out while with the ex...I LIKE THEM!! I have no emotional attachment to the ex...so why does it matter where it came from?

If your wearing it cause you like it and NOT cause it reminds you of your ex...who cares??!!

I don't. But that's b/c I despise my ex. I gave everything to my Dad (he's a jeweler) to whatever he wanted to do with it.

However, when I was with my ex I used to wear a ring FH gave me when we first dated cause I liked it so much.
