Just curious, would you get married on your birthday? Why or why not?

I'm like obsessed with my b-day and to get married on it I think would kind of take away....I would always want separate days.

Absolutely not!!

My Aunt got married on her birthday, and now she's divorced. Enough said!

****And obviously no one starts off their marriage thinking about the possibility of divorce, but really, there are 364 other days in the year - pick one of them!!

nope but my moh's mother got married last yr on her birthday in vegas (2nd marriage)

The 2 weekends that worked out best for us with my law school schedule were the weekend of 8/8-8/10 and 8/15-8/17 if we wanted to have time for a honeymoon.

As much as I think 08/08/08 is *the* coolest day ever , it's my birthday, so I ruled out that day (and weekend). I'm only getting married a week later, which is still close IMO, but it's close to our dating anniv (9/1) and it worked out for us with timing.

Edit: I am getting married on a friend's birthday, but i've gotten used to the idea and it was kind of unavoidable - I have my birthday or friends birthdays every weekend of Aug and half of July!

I am way to selfish to share a date with something that I can get two presents from FH no seriuosly though I wouldnt want to do it on my birthday because I want that day to be special for only that reason, not oh and its my birthday too

I would at least consider it but i wanted a spring wedding so wouldn't simply because of that. It would make it easy for FH because for valentines day, my birthday and our anniversary he could just get one big gift ...my birthday is day after v-day

I actually would have no problem with it this year, because it is my birthday as well. In asian cultures 8/8/08 is a day of good luck. Actually, if it was any other year but this year I would probably have a problem with it.

i am a summer baby but i hate the summer so definitely not!!

however last year i was invited to 9 different weddings on my birthday - 7/7!

plus i already share my bday with a friend, my godmom and FH's cousin!

Prob not. I would prefer a separate day. Although I would be having a spring wedding and I could get peonies then...

Nope. I always felt bad as a kid for people whose birthdays are December 24/Dec. 25. And that of course couldn't be helped! This CAN be avoided, so yeah, I'd avoid it.

I wouldn't care either way. FH and I really don't exchange presents on anns anyway - i don't know many people who do after the first year. Maybe flowers and a card and if its a special year something special.

Birthdays i don't get much anymore because we feel why spend the money - we rather go away or something so in all honesty its not a big deal for us.

My FH's birthday is two days after mine, so were thinking of picking 8/12 b/c it's in the middle but then decided it would be too much going on that time of the year..I already have a ton of family birthdays in August too.

I wouldnt get married on mine because its in the winter and i hive in the cold so that owuldnt look good in pics lol we were throwing around the idea of getting married on our daughters birthday 8/29 but then decided it was too late in the month and alot of people would probably be on last minute vacations so we went with 8/1 instead

No! i didnt want to get married near our birthdays (feb and june) or around moms day or fathers (may or june) b/c one day we will hopefully be parents and i want our anniversary to be our own day - seperate from those months.......i dont mind our wedding being in between thanksgiving and xmas b/c those are holidays for a bunch of people - and i love the holiday season, i think its a romantic time for an anniversary.....
