We rent an apartment in FIL's home. I lived there for 2 yrs b/f we got engaged. To be honest those 2 yrs were great, respected our space, etc. In the last few months, its been a different story. Recently she has complained to FH that I dont come down & visit her when I come home from work.![]()

She is increasingly getting more needy and invasive but I honestly think she is freaking that her 'baby boy' is getting married and moving out. I'm trying to be kind and patient but am def running out of steam!!!!
So to answer your ques....NEGATIVE!!! Once we are out, we are out and FMIL & FFIL can go about their own business!!! The only way either set of parents are living w/us is if its time for a nursing home (which we would never do to them).
I have the same issue. FMIL complains that all i do is stay upstairs. Well when i come home im tired at times and dont feel like having a long drawn out conversation. All i want to do is change my clothes, wash my make up off and get my glass of wine and relax. I also feel like she has an opinion about EVERYTHING....what i wear, how i comb my hair, how i dress my son, if i am wearing slippers or not. I'm trying to be respectful since she is allowing us to live in her house with our children but DAMN WHERE DOES IT STOP.
When we move out i dont think i will have much to say to her

NO WAY!!! Wouldn't live with my parents either for that matter.
i lived with FH's parents (before he was FH) for about 3 months and they were the worst three months of my life. i don't recommend it.

it depends... we lived across the street from my parents for about 6 months...my parents never bothere us and respected our privacy.
if we were able to share a home (enough space where everyone has privacy) then yes I would let my inlaws or my parents move in. If they were ill, older (my parents are almost 60), retired, widowed... I would def open my home to them..
It can also help save on child care!![]()

I'm more with you on this one. I personally have NO issues with my MIL and FIL and if we had to do it, I would do it. I grew up in a Latin American household where my grandparents always lived with us and my parents. In Spanish cultures it's a little more normal/expected to cohabitate with your in-laws/parents. With that being said, I would NEVER go back to live with my parents ever. My mom is friggin impossible to deal with, and I will NEVER live with her again! I moved out at 19 for a reason! And when I broke up with my shittty ex and had to move in with my parents until things settled down, I literally JUST made it to the 12 week mark before I lost it and figured my shitt out and moved back on my own! I would really be ok with living with my In laws though, because they are much more normal and helpful than my parents haha. I would never WANT to do this, but if we had to, it wouldn't be the end of the world at all. MY MOM would be the problem hahaha.

We actually lived with FH's mom for 6mths and it didn't work out. She is a sweetheart but FH hated it and it was making our relationship fall apart. So we had to move out
If we had to, then we would. His mom and dad are awesome.
