Would you rather have a husband who worked a lot and made a lot or....

Which would you rather have?

A. Husband who works a lot but makes more than enough to support you and your family. He wouldn't be able to chip in as much when it comes to picking up the kids, doing housework, etc. You could keep your career but you'd need outside help.

B. Husband who works good hours (9-5) but doesn't make as much. He wouldn't be able to support you and the kids. Both of you would have to work full-time to make ends meet but you could share the responsibilities.

Althought my parents would prefer that I had an 'A' situation and that I become a housewife.

B - That's what I have right now in FH.....we share the responsibilities. He likes cooking & doing yard work....he'll basically clean anything in the house without me asking him to. He just won't do laundry lol

I'd rather be the husband in situation A and have him clean the house and be the primary caregiver.

Depends....

B if it was just the two of us....

A if there were kids involved.....but I wouldn't keep my career until the kid(s) started school.

B...money is great and while i wouldn't mine having the moolah in scenario A...in the end i know i wouldn't be happy with a husband that suppport the family financially....but not emotionally.

I have to agree with Ronnysbride. If we could afford it, I'd like to stay home with the kids. But I am not going to make FH/DH go crazy trying to support us.

B - I miss FH when he has to work late, which is rare. I couldnt't deal with it all the time

I'd have to say A, so that someone could be home with the kids. I think it would make it easier if I didn't HAVE to work!

I'll just take Todd however things work out.

We both have busy work schedules now, but we are also one of those couples that does almost everything together (even grocery shopping)... We've promised each ot her we won't be come workaholics because that's not healthy for anyone. We hope to slow down / move away in about 5 years to start our own business. I'd love to be independently wealthy and have all day to hang out with FH, but we take what we have.

I fully agree. I have no qualms working long hours and I want nothing to do with kids or cleaning. I do not have the patience for either.

I dont mind both of us working. It is kind of out-dated to expect the husband to take care of the family and provide for everything. Woman are educated these days and I enjoy using my knowledge everyday when I go to work and I know my DF appreciates my work ethic.

I dont know i got lucky with this one...Fh makes good money and he gets out early, he usually gets out 2:30-3pm.

Well I like the idea of A because we wouldn't have to worry about money, bills, expenses, etc., which would relieve a huge amount of stress from my life. But I'd miss him so much and that would drive me crazy if I never saw him. For us now it's more like B (we both work and make average money) and we get to spend time together which I like. I don't know what my answer would be if we had kids though. Tough question! I'd like the best of both choices ($$$ and time together) but that's hard to get!

I would love if it DH made more money. However, I would miss him if he worked long hours. While I'd like to be home with my children, I would also like to spend time with my DH and have him spend time with the kids as well.

So I'll take B.
