Congrats Kelley! Keep up the good work!

Colleen - AP's can now be held for the week. So yes, now they rollover. But if you don't use them by the end of the week, you lose them.

Thanks Laura! I knew you would know the answer...I guess that justifies my cheez it indulgence today lol

Re: WW Support Thread

Wow, down 17 pounds - that's awesome!!!!

I'm still going strong on Core and working out a lot lately. My arms and shoulder blades are really sore, but in a good way! And while I love the rainy weather (weird, I know), it bums me out that I can't jog in it. My knee always hurts after I jog outdoors when the ground is wet or damp. So I've been chugging along at the gym. Pilates class tomorrow night, which I look forward to every week. I'm addicted!

Colleen - I think with the old plan you'd have to use your AP's that day, whereas now with the new plan you can bank them to use throughout your week, like how you can use your 35 weekly points throughout the week. Can someone just clarify if I'm right? I don't have my WW books with me and tend to use my AP's the same day, most of the time!

I gained .4 three weeks ago, and I still have not lost it. I'm finding it very hard to remain motivated. I'm not meeting my personal goal which was atleast 1 lb a week. I'm very sad that I'm approaching my 2 month mark on weight watchers and I'm stuck. Meanwhile FH is getting thinner and thinner as the days pass. I know sometimes with me it takes longer, its just very discouraging.

Hey Jessica,

Maybe this can help:

First a few 'official' WW things to look at:

Are you eating all of your daily target points each day?
Are you weighing and measuring your foods?
Are you tracking EVERYTHING you eat and/or drink?
What method of tracking do you use?
Are you getting in your 9 good health guidelines every day (i.e. water, dairy, oil, fruits/veggies, etc.)?
Do you use your WPA's?
Do you use your AP's?
Do you go to meetings each week?
--If so, have you spoken to your leader about this?
What types of foods are you eating most of?

Ok now some 'outside' things to look at:
Have you measured yourself instead of weighing?
How are your clothes fitting?

Great idea, Laura...our fearless WW leader

Last summer was my first one on WW and I learned a lot about tweaking things to be healthier.

Grilled veggies are AWESOME - I usually brush them with a little EVOO (getting in that daily oil!) and put a veggie spice rub that I have on them, then grill away.

Fruit salad is your friend!

I also like to take a sheet cake of angel food (low cal, whoop whoop!), top it with fat-free cool whip, and then make the flag on the top w/ strawberries and blueberries. Mmm.

Oh, and veggie burgers are AMAZING on the grill - I'll usually throw mine on top of the salad if there are no light buns available.

Find a light beer that you like! My personal fave is Sam Adams Light.

And get in some kind of activity - play frisbee, offer to walk the dog, anything!

Laura

Are you eating all of your daily target points each day? Yes
Are you weighing and measuring your foods? YEs
Are you tracking EVERYTHING you eat and/or drink? Yes (I only drink water and 1 capri sun a day once a week, Ill have soda.)
What method of tracking do you use? E-tools
Are you getting in your 9 good health guidelines every day (i.e. water, dairy, oil, fruits/veggies, etc.)? Yup
Do you use your WPA's? Rarely, if we have a special occassion I will but mostly no.
Do you use your AP's? Nope
Do you go to meetings each week? I actually havent the past three but only because of schedule conflicts
--If so, have you spoken to your leader about this? I haven't FH wants me to this week
What types of foods are you eating most of?I try not to eat any artificial sweetners. I dont eat a lot of frozen meals because of the sodium (maybe 1 a month.) Dinners are almost always home cooked although we do go out for a slice of pizza once a week.
I'm not sure if my body is in shock, I was previously seriously addicted to soda. And when I say addicted I probably drank 3 20oz sodas during work and when i would come home have a few cans. I rarely have it now.

Ok now some 'outside' things to look at:
Have you measured yourself instead of weighing?I haven't
How are your clothes fitting? My clothes were actually fitting better a month ago.

My suggestions:

1. Make sure you're getting in all of your good health guidelines everyday. This should use almost 20 points a day.

2. Make sure your portions are correct.

3. If you are doing the above and still feel like you're eating too much, use more of the full fat foods instead of fat free or reduced fat. This way you're eating the same VOLUME but you're eating more points. For instance, 1 cup of skim milk is 2 points, while a cup of whole milk is 3. Same volume, higher points. Then, as you lose weight, and you lose points, you can start going to lower calorie / lower fat foods and still eat the same volume for less points and not feel hungry!

Re: WW Support Thread

thanks laura...the only one im having difficulty getting in is the dairy...certain dairy can give me a fulll blown migraine so i try to becareful...yesterday i had soy yougurt....the other day it was a piece of homemade mozzerella (which never bthers me) milk is a hit or a miss, so i tend to steer clear...

it could also be from TOM....bec i feel like crap and not always hungry during....so we will see how today goes...its such a learning processs!

One more thing...don't show up at a BBQ hungry, because once you see all the not-so-great stuff, your willpower might not be as strong.

Re: WW Support Thread

Ok here are my tips and tricks:

Ball Park FF hot dogs - 1 pt
Hebrew National 97% FF hot dogs - 1 pt
Stop & Shop Light Hot Dog and/or Hamburger rolls - 1pt
**this way I can have a 2pt hot dog instead of an 8 point one! **

Use reduced fat or fat free mayo for potato and/or macaroni salad

Extra lean ground beef for burgers
Turkey burgers
Veggie burgers
Chicken burgers

Baked tostitos
Fat free or reduced fat sour cream in dips
Salsa
Veggie platter

Chicken legs marinated in italian dressing then thrown on the grill

Spray butter for corn on the cob

PORTION CONTROL - I ALWAYS use the WW serving spoons at my BBQ's. This way I know I'm measuring my portions, but my guests don't

ETA: for dessert:

Brownies made with unsweetened applesauce (instead of eggs and oil)

Angel food cake with fresh strawberries and fat free cool whip - instant strawberry shortcake

Grilled fruits with yogurt dip

Re: WW Support Thread

Boar's head beef hot dogs are 3 point per hot dog, with a 1 point bun from stop and shop and you've got a 4 point dinner.
