Celia here are my pointers for weddings:
1. Eat something before you go so you're not starving
2. At CH, first, scan the options (without a plate in your hand) and see which ones you want most. Then try to fill up on fruits and veggies, and maybe one or two of the hor d'oerves that you want the most
3. Also at CH, keep to one plate, and a drink in your hand. Especially if you don't end up sitting it's MUCH harder to eat when your hands are full.
4. At dinner, have your salad, then opt for either the chicken (if it's baked or grilled) or the fish. Usually at weddings, the steaks are HUGE. Eat only half your plate.
5. Alternate between alcohol and water. For every alcoholic drink you have, drink a glass of water. You'll drink less alcohol this way. If you go for mixed drinks, get a spritzer, or a mixer such as diet soda. Juices and regular sodas rack up more calories.
6. Volunteer to be the designated driver. Then you REALLY won't drink as much.
7. For dessert, if they have a VH, do the same as CH. Scan the options first and pick one or two you want most.
8. DANCE DANCE DANCE! Earn some AP's!
9. Mingle! Remember, weddings are about fun, celebration, and the couple getting married. They're not *really* supposed to be about food.

Re: WW Support Thread
how many weeklys do you have or will you have tomorrow?
look up the points to some very common 'wedding foods' like salmon or a fish entree and a chicken dish too. of course, if you like fish, go for the fish entree and eat the veggies but wny not skip the potato or whatever starch comes with it.
if there is salad before hand, just a little advice, i had salad the other day and it had regular italian dressing on it, so i thought how bad could it be. well it was bad!!!! so stay away from dressing that is already on a salad, opt for the fruit or dressing on the side.
at ch, look for the grilled veggies, fruit display and non fried stuff most of all. meats wont be terrible like beef or shrimp skewers would be a better choice then meat in some kind of creamy sauce or a fried somethin...
there is no exact way to know what you will eat before hand and the points but if you stick to these things, you will have a much better chance to coming home and when you look up the points, it will be a better total then if you hadnt done these things.
oh and for dessert, of course fruit and if you want to have something else, i would get something other than cake like a cookie or two or a small other pastry so that its limited to that and not a huge slice of cake where its sitting in front of you and youre likely to eat the whole thing.
as far as drinks go, my friend and i always drink diet coke and vanilla vodka (like stoli or another good brand). you can do wine of course but wine goes down fast and could add up quicker than a soda cocktail which you might be likely to have less of.
ohhhh, and before the wedding, of course you dont want to have too many points but get in some lo points fruit, maybe do an egg white omelet for breakfast with lots of veggies and have a yogurt or some dairy. and if you can have a 1 point whole wheat bread like a thomas lite english muffin. that all should only be about 5 or max 6 points and you will feel fuller!
good luck!!!!!!!

Laura and Lorin- you guys are awesome!!!!!!!! These are great tips. I posted this on my WW site thread and noone gave me any tips except stick with salad and fish and chicken. Most of the girls on my thread on that site are from the midwest and have no idea what a NY wedding is like. I knew my LIW girls would come through for me

BUMP!
It's been a while ladies......how are we all doing?
I spent almost allllllll day Sunday cooking, so I have turkey chili for lunch for the week, I have sauce made for pasta, pizza, and chicken, and I planned out dinner s for every night this week. And it's back to the gym M-Th this whole week.
Oh and an FYI, for those of you in Nassau, starting on Nov. 11, I'll be doing a meeting in Carle Place at 7:15pm on Wednesday evenings. I'd love to see some of you there!

Still chuggin' along on Core. I'm thinking that after my trips to Florida and Philly, I'm going to do a vegan spin on Core for awhile, with a focus on raw foods. I've been crazy sick this month - allergies (which I never suffer from) and a recurring cold...I feel like eliminating dairy from my diet for awhile will help me.
Prepare for more weirdness from me, as veganism makes people pretty nutty.
Because I've been sick, I've been avoiding the gym. It's pretty much a breeding ground for germs and I hate hate hate when I'm there and see people sick. I'm not adding to that problem.
I've been keeping the eating under control, passing on the NY bagels that my mom and sister indulged in when they were here and sticking to my Kim's Light ones. Eating a lot of Core soup. I love soup, but I can't take this anymore. I gotta get better.
Weight is teetering within 2-4 pounds of my goal, which is fine considering I haven't been to the gym.
Alright, enough with my novel.

I have been seeing a few of you posting about Kim's light bagels. Where do you get them? I try to buy the WW bagels -but alot of times the Stop and Shop by me doesnt have them. So instead I am getting light multigrain eng. muffins - but they just dont seem to fill me like a bagel does.

Hi Ladies! Hope you're all doing well!
Quick WW Question
How should I be distributing my points throughout the day? Like how many points should I use for breakfast, lunch, etc?
I'm not a big breakfast person, and I usually don't have the time for it anyway, so I'll just do a 1 point yogurt and maybe some fruit.
I feel like I go overboard at lunch (maybe that's because FH packs my lunch), and then I'm scrambling for points in the evening (I work late many nights, so I like to have a snack before dinner that I usually don't have the points for!).
