Hi Ladies! Hope you're all doing well!

Quick WW Question

How should I be distributing my points throughout the day? Like how many points should I use for breakfast, lunch, etc?

I'm not a big breakfast person, and I usually don't have the time for it anyway, so I'll just do a 1 point yogurt and maybe some fruit.

I feel like I go overboard at lunch (maybe that's because FH packs my lunch), and then I'm scrambling for points in the evening (I work late many nights, so I like to have a snack before dinner that I usually don't have the points for!).

How do you divide it?

TIA!

here is how i break up my points...(i get 20)

2-3 pts for breakfast

5-6 pts for lunch

1-2 pts late afternoon snack

7-8 pts for dinner

2-3 pts for dessert

Liz, it really all depends on how hungry you are during the day.

My days are usually something like this:

Breakfast - approx. 3 points
Snack - 1point
Lunch - 5-7 points
Snack - 1-2 points
Dinner - approx. 7 points plus lots of 0 point veggis
Snack/Dessert - 2-3 points

This is based on around 18-24 points per day (depending on if I'm trying to lose or maintain) and using some activity points and WPA's.

I feel like I'm not utilizing zero point foods enough--do you girls have any reccommendations for them?

I have been seeing a few of you posting about Kim's light bagels. Where do you get them? I try to buy the WW bagels -but alot of times the Stop and Shop by me doesnt have them. So instead I am getting light multigrain eng. muffins - but they just dont seem to fill me like a bagel does.

Celia - I've found them at the Super Stop & Shop on Union Turnpike. Bonus: There's an A.C. Moore there so you can go in and look at all the wedding stuff, LOL! They're really good. There are a bunch of flavors on the website, but I've only seen the plain and wheat in the store so far.

Liz - I'm not much of a raw carrot kinda girl. I prefer to eat raw broccoli or raw green beans as a snack. Or sliced cucumbers. Raw veggies + salsa = zero points and yummy!
I also like to make a salad with mostly zero-point items, then toss in some beans (which are points) and mix some low-fat sour cream (a small amount; 1 Tbsp usually) with a good amount of salsa (zero points)...it makes for a tasty Mexican-style salad with a kinda creamy dressing for a tony amount of points. That's my go-to for dinner on really busy days.

I never go into that one- I have to run over there one day after work. I want to try those bagels I know about the AC Moore- havent gotten a chance to get there yet either. I usually go into Michaels at Woodhaven and Metro

Re: WW Support Thread

Sooooo. here are some new foods that ive been eating lately to help me on ww. thought id share. if theyve been spoken about already, sorry but maybe someone new could benefit

just bought this yesterday!!!
FIBER ONE PANCAKE MIX
(serving size is 1/2 cup and its cool cuz the box specifies that, that equals 3 pancakes)
this is 3 points. i thought that was pretty good considering your eating PANCAKES!!!
I poured a little over 1/4 cup sugar free syrup over them which was 0 points.

SHADYBROOK FARMS BREAKFAST SAUSAGE
3 points for 2 (now thats not very low but for me, its worth it on the weekends cuz having sausage is like a treat for me so if i could eat it, its worth it. (now, regular breakfast sausages are usually 3 points for 3 however they are muchhhhh smaller. imo, the 2 turkey ones were bigger than 3 small regs).

JOLLYTIME POPCORN
(the one that actualy says 1 WW point on the box) (regular or kettle corn) - 1 point for the whole bag!!!! (does not taste 'healthy' at all, theres a decent amount of butter and salt lol)

ok dont know what brand these are but they are always in the bakery section on a rack. they are......

1 POINT HUGEEEE WRAPS.!!!!!!!!

and I mean Huge! i usually cut off a piece and put it underneath the first layer of wrap so nothing breaks through, LOL. (they have something like 11 grams of fiber and come in all different flavors. i like the original and have to try the other buts i tried the tomato basil and did not like that one at all

(i had always been using the mission wraps/burritos and for small ones or medium sized, the lowest point values were 2)

I make big veggie egg wraps, grilled chicken with other stuff thrown in, shrimp/lobster or ground turkey burritos or quesadillas with these wraps.

SELECT SOUPS (LIGHT) (white cans)
most of them are 3-4 pionts per can or 1-2 points for a half can. its a very filling lunch though for the full can and low points.
i have tried the crab soup so far and it was very good.

now some meals ive been cooking lately are

-Turkey Chili
with ground turkey 99% fat free, Shadybrook farms

- the turkey enchiladas or burritos like i mentioned

- sandwiches using the swiss or pepper jack ww cheese and Arnold sandwich thins (which are 1 point) (and the cheese is 1 point).

-grilled or sauted in (pam) veggies with balsamic

(i did this on a sandwich at first on the arnold bread with melted ww string cheese mozzarella)
i used mushrooms or a portobello mmm, tomatoes, eggplant and green and red peppers,

the next day, i brought the left over veggies to work and just had them like that.

- turkey sausage and peppers

-going to try shrimp alfredo with ww pasta tonight and check on etools for a ww friendly alfredo sauce.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK!

Re: WW Support Thread

I'm in my second day of veganism, tailoring it to the Core program. Tomorrow I'm off from work and am spending it making some butternut squash/bartlett pear soup, vegan pad Thai (counting points for the noodles, obv.) and pumpkin spice muffins.

Still no gym for me. Doctor's orders, until I am at 100% for three days in a row. Boo. I'm not at 100% yet for a day straight.

Thanks Kristin!!! I hope to stick to it this time!

Laura
Unfortunately i'm not going to meetings so this is my only motivation! 3 hours of my day is spent commuting and then 9 hours working so by the time i get home its pretty much shower/dinner/puppytime/bed!

You girls all rock!

Sooo I havent been a very loyal WW member. I definatly had taco bell. I tried to be good and have a fresco taco....and then I had nachos with cheese too.

Hopefully running 2 miles on an incline before that cancelled out my taco bell error
