So I went on my first florist appointment today at House of Flowers in Mamaronek. I honestly had no idea what to expect because everyone's prices tend to be all over the place and I want some really simple stuff, so I just went in and said 'This is what I want, what can you give me?'
He quoted me for:
My Boq. 5 BM Boq's 1 FH Boot. 5 GM Boots. 2 Father Boots. 2 Mother corsages 14 Center Pieces (Short and on the small side) 4-6 small votive candles per table A Runner
And he quoted me at around $3000
That seems really expensive to me. A lot of other girls are getting their prices in the $2000 range.
My general idea for what I want is attached. Simple, modern, clean.
Granted I also want to include gardenias in there, but still, I want small stuff and I'm not getting that much, right?
I'm only going to one more appointment after this because I have four requested florists and one of them is in the city and the other is more of a full table scape place and I want smaller simple stuff.
too much- i am getting similar items and a bit more and much cheaper. FM if you'd like

Any one have any thoughts?
well it all depends on the flowers not just quantity of things you are getting but yeah that does seem to be a bit much considering you have low cp's and not a ton of bok's or bouts. Any church decorations? maybe thats why but still, i would say continue to shop around. For what you are getting you can get a better price. Ive seen girls get more and for less on here

That doesn't include the church because I don't know where it's going to be yet and if we go to the reception hall I want the center pieces to double for the decorations.
The only kind of flowers I'm set on using are hydrengas (which are the main flower), roses, and gardenias. I know gardenias are expensive but they're mainly being used in my bouquet and on FH's boutenier (sp?). I told him I'm not too picky, I just want something classic yet modern looking. Meh, I guess we'll see.
Thanks!

That seems to be the general consensus. I think when I go to the next place I'm going to play Ms. Cheap-skate and see what I can get.

well low cp's are generally 50-100 but mostly i would say between $50-75each so going by that your cps alone should be $700-1k and the rest there is no way it can add up to 2k since basically its the bm bok's, your bok and then bouts and corsages. 6 bok's are not going to even be $1k and bouts and corsages are not much.
Honestly you dont even have to play ms cheapskate they should give you a fair price regardless.
my bm bok's are calla lillies and they are $89 each and calla's are on the higher side. Then i am thinking of everything i am getting too and the price doesn't add up. The brides bok is usually higher so that will be a bigger chunk of the bok's but still doesnt add up

No, I don't think you have to. That florist may have just been very expensive.... When are you meeting with your other ones??? If you want I could go with you!

JMO! I feel that is expensive and you can get a better deal somewhere else. What others place are you going to check out?

I'm just going to go to Forever in Bloom which is in Mt. Kisco (in Putnam County). My RH is in Westchester and requires that I use one of their four florists.

I got a better quote then that. I am using Flowers by Rosemare, she works out of her house in Sayville, and I have heard nothing but great things about her. FM if you need the number.
