I think my entire HS years were an embarrassment. I was a dorky miserable mess, but anyway thats another story!

I know I fell / tripped on the stairs a few times, but one thing that sticks out is one night when i was a freshman i got invited to one of the 'cool' kids houses and there were going to be guys there etc So before I went, I had dinner with my family and a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. I got to the party, it was fine, and all of a sudden my stomach started rumbling...I had to RUN to the bathroom and couldnt come out all night The guys were asking where I was and the girls told them i was stuck in the bathroom So much for first impressions!

In HS I dated a guy who I never knew had a girlfriend. Turns out the guys girlfriend went to a different HS but took the same bus as me and found out about me. One day I got on the bus by myself and her and her friends started throwing papers at me and laughing at me. I was so embarrassed. I hated the guy after that for making me go through that.

When I was a sophomore, I went to the Newsday marching band festival at Hofstra. Before getting on the bus, I downed my McDonald's meal and as a result, got a really bad headache and then got nauseous. I had to use the bathroom, but the line wrapped around the stadium. So finally, after suffering through the whole night with this painful headache and nausea, we were lined up for the closing ceremony where all of the bands play a song together. Well, right on the 10 yd line I tossed my fries!!!

For years after, people in my marching band would call out 'who yakked on the 10 yd line?'

It was funny but embarrassing!

Well, no doubt in high school I had many embarrassing moments - I'm a very clumsy girl - fortunately, I have had them all erased from my mind via very small, very painful electric shocks...However, I am sure some will find their way back to me during my 10 year high school reunion Thanksgiving weekend.

But for now, I am willing to share a particularly butt-clenching episode with you all that happened right in our very own Penn Station. a few years ago, I was sporting my full-length black suede coat from Wilsons a la the Matrix. I had stayed in the city at a friend's overnight and was making my way back to Long Island via the railroad. I was halfway down the escalator when I realized that because I was wearing sneakers, my coat was grazing the floor and it didn't take long for it to get stuck in the metal stairs. So, what could I do, but nonchalantly pull at it in an effort to set myself free. But, to no avail. So, I turn around to the guy behind me. My coat is stuck in the escalator I say. What? MY COAT IS STUCK IN THE ESCALATOR. His advice? Wait till you get to the bottom and then give it a good tug. Okay, nod, big thumbs up sign. I wait patiently to get to the bottom and at the very end I pull with all of my might. I'm sure you've all guessed by now that it doesn't come out.

Oh, no.

Oh, no.

There is a spectacular crash as the metal saddle at the bottom of the escalator bursts into a myriad of tiny pieces and the whole moving staircase seizes up with an unceremonious thud and jerk. Angry people who have just mounted the top now have to walk down the length of the escalator, all glaring at me as the file past, because, guess what...I am still stuck. Well, now I'm in a bit of a predicament because my train is about to depart. Do I leave the jacket and run for it? Some guy tells me he will send someone...but after several minutes, my train has come and gone and still no help. I decide to take the jacket off, draping it over the railing and go in search of help. Of course, there is the usual squabble about who is really responsible for the escalator. Penn Station? Amtrak? whatever! In the end, I search out a few cops who come over and free my coat - which now has fringe where the hem used to be.

You can imagine my mother's reaction when I told her why I was late.

mine was in Grammer School - In 4th grade I leaned over to pick up my math book on the floor and I passed some gas I thought no one had heard but then i saw this kid (i still remember it like it was yesterday) tap the girl in front of him and said 'Jennifer farted pass it on' and by the end of the day everyone knew and made fun of me and I went home crying. It was so embarrassing

Actually, now that I think about it, high school was just a series of humiliating pratfalls, each more embarassing and grotesque than the last! I was knocked over by the track team, I walked into several walls, I got articles of clothing stuck in doors, lockers, you name it.

OMG Farah that is beyond hysterical!!

oh yeah and today (i forgot!) as I was switching trains at Newark, this lady in front of me sees her long lost friend and runs over to say hello. As she opens her arms to hug her friend, the 25 lb bag she is carrying just so happens to make contact with my right eye I was so embarrassed and she didnt even apologize!

I have 2 bad ones!

1) I was sitting at lunch across from the guy I had such a crush on and I was (for some WIERD reason) playing footsies with the table leg. It wasnt the table, it was him. And the whole time he was looking at me strangely I was thinking that he was saying to himself how he likes me. DUH!

2) I was drinking chocolate milk out of the little carton through a straw. I was obviously NOT thinking because even though I was drinking through the straw, I was tilting the carton up and yup... chocolate milk was now all over me!

This is certainly not going to beat Farah's response but I will share regardless:

At my Highschool graduation, we were all lined up to go up to the stage to get our diplomas. I was so busy looking for my friends and family in the stands that I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I walked right in the back of the very tall guy in fronnt of me. I was only 2 or 3 people away from the stage so the entire audiene saw it! I was wearing sunglasses (think back to 1991 - the glasses were pretty huge!!!) , thankfully, so the principal couldn't see the tears running out of my eyes!

We were taking graduation pictures in the school auditortium and we were going up 2 at a time. We'll this football player and I were going up togteher.

The girls had to wear this fake off the shoulder robe thing and we had to take off our shirts and drape it over ourselves. So I was sitting there waiting for my picture to be taken, fussing with my hair when all of a sudden the velcro on the gown comes undone and the thing falls and I am sitting there in my bra! The football player was like 'Uh, nice boobs Lisa' so I said 'Thanks Vic' ... thank goodness he was a nice guy and didn't completely embarrass me ... he did tell our entire homeroom class that he saw my boobs though.
