I would suggest getting some work out tapes. This way you can do it at home. I have the Pilates DVD's and love them. Some of them are only 20 minutes.

Thats what i do...It takes time to get dressed for the gym, drive or walk to wherever it is work out then get home...So if you don't have alot of time do 20-30 mins in your house whenever you have time.

I also do pilates...another good thing is that on demand now has exercise on demand, there are LOTS of exercise programs to watch, some are very short and they have longer ones too and every kind, pilates, abs, weights, belly dancing everything...So whenever you find free time run to the tv put it on and do it

Do you have a lunch hour? Even if you can't go to the gym then, a brisk walk will make a bid dent.

Re: Ladies who hit the gym

I'm so lucky that I have a gym at work - complete with free personal training!

They have everything there - showers, workout clothes, etc. They even have a laundry service for our underwear, etc.

If I didn't have that, I'm not sure I'd be able to find the time. It's so tough. I work long hours, too - you just have to make sure to make it a priority and get up a little earlier or go late at night after work. You'll start to have more energy after you've been working out for a while.

If you can't hit the gym, why not just get up a bit earlier and take a long walk or something?

I go right from work and eat when I get home. After a workout I find I eat less. Also once you go home it's hard to get motivated to go back out.

OMG, I just remembered that I totally bought one of those once. I tried it once and forgot all about it! It has like 3 different (very short) workouts on it. I'm totally going to rock out to my pilates video tonight when I get home! Thanks!

The pilates balance ball is great too

Re: Ladies who hit the gym

To be honest it really is a committment. I make it part of my lifestyle. I hate to sound like I'm preaching but the thing is you have to make the time.

I set a goal for going at least 3X per week. If I go more I reward myself with a favorite treat like cookies, pizza, ect.

I usually go for 90 minutes on Sat and/or Sunday (when I have the time to really work out) and during the week I will go after work or before work at 5:30 if I know I am working late. During the week I only work out for one hour 30 min cardio 30 min weight training.

Once it becomes a routine you really get used to it.

Re: Ladies who hit the gym

I just recently started going back to the gym and let me tell you ladies...it hurts. My upper body is so sore right now but it's cause I'm training my body to get use to it too. I was so lazyyyyyyyyyy for the past year or so..I really got to get my arse up and start exercising. It's funny how, when it's your wedding, that's when we exercise...

However, if you don't have the time to head to the gym, maybe you could get some DVDs or tapes to work out at home..chk this out:

I heard this is good...

This is so true. Once you make a habit of something you get used to it. I started going to the gym at 5:30 and believe me, I am NOT a morning person. I work really late though and the thought of coming home and going to the gym...well it just won't happen. So I started getting up and going and it's been working out. Today is the first day since the new year that I didn't go in the morning. I haven't been feeling well. But the key is to take your work out clothes out the night before so it's already for you to go!

I try to go during lunch, I try to take a class a couple of times a week, time permitting. Or I go right after I leave work before I get home.

I find that I'm more awake when I go and I feel a lot better! It just takes a few visits to get into a routine.

I'm going to try and get myself motivated to do some Tae Bo one the days when I can't go to the gym. I have to try and go at least 3 times a week if not 4.

Going to the gym is hard. When I was in college I use to go to the gym everyday. I was also going with a friend. I think if you have someone to go with you its easier. Now that I work full time and go to school for my master. I find there is no time to go. I feel the same way you do. Sometimes I make time to go.
