Marcela . . .what a small world!! My dad and his family is from Uruguay too! It's such a small little country. I get so excited when I find out people are from there!

We still have a lot of family down there and my father is hoping thatmaybe we can get his sister up here for the wedding.

OMG Miss Linda: Me too! I get so excited when I meet people from Uruguay, because it's so small! I know, my Dad is going to try to get my grandparents to come here and my mom's family is going to try too. But things aren't really great there right now, so we'll see what happens. My mom's going in January to visit our family.

marcela, you look absolutely beautiful!!!
i am also GO and although my Fh and i never had an official engagement ceremony, our marriage ceremony will consist first of an engagement and then of the betrothal...i just started learning a lot of these details too, since i am getting married soon!!!

My family is also from Uruguay!

I completely understand the engagement party thing. My parents offered to have a BBQ for us but we could not use the words 'engagement party' on the invitations!

It's funny you said that because that is excatly what my 'engagement' party was. Un asado with lots and lots of empanadas. I'm Colombian

Curly: We love asados and my grandma makse the best empanadas!! That's what I thought his family meant by an engagement party initially. I thought it was going to be an get together (at a restaurant or BBQ) to celebrate our engagement with just family and friends. As you can see I was mistaken (LOL). We ended up having 120 people. Not what my family and I are used to. This was the first e-party I ever attended!

I'm glad we did it though because we had a BLAST!
