Not knowing a thing about you or you FMIL, I would still have to say that that is one of the most horrible things to say and think. You are about to marry this woman's son. She may be a bad person in your eyes, etc, and maybe even in your FI eyes, but she is still his mother and I cannot even believe that the possibility of her having a huge medical problem doesn't phase you. Not the best way to start out a marriage.

Mean, I wouldn't use the word mean to descibe this post at all. I would say heartless.
This is your FMIL, and regardless of the type of mother she has been you should not want her to die of breast cancer- or any other illness. But I know you will just tell me that you don't care what I have to say anyway.

If you knew the type of woman she was you would agree with me. Maybe I am cold but she is a horrible person and I have never met someone like her in my life. Its amazing she created such a wondeful son!

Mean/heartless whatever ppl may call you, i can just only imagine what they would say about me when i say I wish my grandmother (my mom's mother) was dead and I would give anything in the world right now to have my fathers mother with me.

The way you feel about your FMIL is how i feel about my mothers mom so i know how you feel.
