I had a great experience there. I went to the one in Yonkers. I have a beautiful dress and I am very happy.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
What you can expect is a huge selection of dresses in different sizes. I had a very attentive salesperson. I had a good experience.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I went once, on a saturday. It was very busy, so it wasn't as good of an experience as i would have liked. I don't like that you buy the dresses off the floor, but my salesperson was helpful and friendly. I think if I went maybe during the week at a slower time it would have been better.

I did not buy my dress off the floor, I had to wait for it to come in.

I had nothing but good experiences so far. I recommend the Queens (LIC) location

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
Not to lessen anyone else's experience but I HATED it. I went to Carle place and it was NOTHING compared to the other Bridal Salons I have visted thus far. Take this for a grain of salt. Just my opinion

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I went there for BM dresses and had a great experience. I saw several brides there who seemed to have a lot of attention. THis was in Queens.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I got my BM's dresses at the one in Carle Place. Terrible service. Poor organization. They lost the order 2X- and all of the cards had to be filled in again. Completely aggravating. My wedding was July 2001 and I ordered the dresses the summer before because they could not tell me how long they would carry that particular style or color. I picked up the dresses in November- the girls had them way ahead of time...thank goodness I ordered early. Their prices are reasonable- thats why I went there. If you decide to go there- order early and keep on top of them. Good luck.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I heard mixed reviews on them....I went to the Brooklyn store twice and the first time the experience was GREAT. The second time I felt that we were not treated as nicely I think because the girl that was working with us was also working with 2 other brides. After about an hour or so I felt that she started to pay less and less attention to us. As if my time was up. LOL...But in the end, I did buy my dress there and took it home with me.
I heard HORROR stories about having alterations there. I am taking my dress to a local bridal salon who capped my alterations at $200.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I went with my FMIL (now MIL) within the first few months of my engagement as I was very excited only to be disappointed and discouraged. IMHO, I honestly did not have a good experience there at Carle Place's David's Bridal. I felt they were unattentive, didn't make me feel special, completely ignored both of us like we were statutes, never answered any of our questions. I'd felt like 'just another bride' as I was completely ignored. The customer service was terrible for us! We learned that the gowns from the rack are actually for sale which many have stains or dirty spots on them. This explains why many gown on the rack were discounted traumaticly because there were flaws on the actual gowns. We thought that the gowns on the rack were sample but they were for sale. You purchase the gown from the rack with a stain for a traumatic discount, get it cleaned and restored and then probably get alterations for your size but is this all worth it? Financially it's too much! That was my experience.
However, not to discourage other brides-to-be... everyone has their own experience and let that be so! Good luck!

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I went on a Wednesday morning with no appointment and the guy at the desk was SO RUDE!!! I drove all the way from exit 66 on the LIE to Carle Place and the guy wouldn't even give me the time of day. AND he told me I could look at the clearance dresses. I flat out asked him why I would want to look at clearance dresses and he just shrugged his shoulders. We were in there for about 20 minutes and he never sent anyone over. Total jerk, totally bad experience. It's not like the dresses are cheap. I went to Bridal Suite in Centereach and they were wonderful They were attentive and so very helpful with everything. Carle Place David's Bridal (IMO) is horrible.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I have to chime in on how bad David's at Carle Place is. Service was decent, but it is truly a bridal factory. They want you in/order a dress/out. I've been there both during the week & weekend. For the most part the place is in a constant state of disarray.
The couple salesgirls I worked with at Carle Place seemed nice enuf & tried to help, but they are pretty much outnumbered like 5 brides to 1 salesperson! IMO even if they wanted to provide more personalized service, they'd never be able to do so cuz there are always just too many brides there.
If its not too far for you & you really wanan get your dress at David's, I highly recommend the Long Island City, Queens branch. Its a newer store & MUCH more organized, they only go by appt. unless they aren't busy. The salespeople were nicer & I didn't feel like I was part of a herd of cattle. If I bought my dress at David's I'd have gone to L.I.C. Good luck!
