not to get into a debate about Davids, but again, I went to carle place and it wasn't too bad. I went on a weekday though, about 1pm, guess maybe you shouldn't go on a weekend to avoid the crowds. good luck!

I agree with curly I went to Carle Place and hated it - I even went on a weekday and I was one of 4 customers in the store and got virtually NO HELP

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I ordered my bridesmaid dresses through David's Bridal in Carle Place, and they ****! I only did it because I have a few out of town bridesmaids and thought it would be more convenient for them, but David' Bridal has not been helpful at all. They lost my order once, and have been rude on the phone when I've called. If I had to do it over again, I would have just taken everyone's measurements and ordered bridesmaid dresses through RK Bridal where I got my dress.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I got my dress at Davids (not off the rack, it was ordered)and had a pretty good experience. I went to Carle Place. I'm not the kind of girl that likes all the attention so I was happy they let me do my own thing. I didn't want them standing there telling me how beautiful I looked when I know it wasn't so nice (like some of the salons I went to). I've been there MANY times (the girl at the front desk Karen knows me by name). Weekends are CRAZY - I suggest not going then. I went on a few Wednesdays and they were pretty empty. I had a few very helpful women (I didnt like Etta though - she was the only unhelpful one).
I am also getting my bridesmaids dresses there. My BM and I went to three other salons and the BM dresses were terrible (totally BM dresses).
Overall I am very happy so far with the service and the dresses (although I haven't yet ordered BM dresses -- crossing my fingers)

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
David's Bridal in Long Island city is where I got my dress. The salesperson I was assigned to was very helpful and kind. You need to make an appointment since you are not allowed to look through the dresses yourself. I bought my dress there and got in in two months. I went on a Sunday but I recommend making an appointment during the week if possible so you can be there when it is less crowded.
Their prices are remarkable. They start at $350.00. If you want to save some money on a gown, that is the place to go.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I went to the David's Bridal in Long Island City and it was a much better store than the one in Carle Place. I can't say I had a terrible experience with the one in Carle Place, but the only time a saleswoman approached me was to fill out a registration form with my BM's names, then she put her name on top. My FSIL thinks that this saleswoman was trying to get commission on our sale yet did absolutely nothing to help us (nor did she give us the time of day!). I thought that was interesting.
When I picked the BM dresses at David's yesterday, I was told that they don't need to be ordered at the same time. Is this true? I'm concerned that the colors may not be from the same dye lot.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
Julybaby, your dresses don't need to be ordered at the same time b/c they're different styles!!! Most likely there will be a little of the color difference, but it shouldn't be too too different, and it probably will not be all that noticable in the pictures.
From my understanding, you can't order different styles of the dress from the same dye lot.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I just wanted to say that when I went to Davids in Carle Place- the woman that was helping me left to go her lunch break in the middle of helping me try on the second dress- luckily my friend was there so she helped me get the dress off. Other salons carry dresses that are pretty close in price with much better service. JMO

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
Thanks, Alina. I'll just have my sister order her dress through her local David's Bridal in North Carolina. It will make things easier for everyone, including myself!

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
I bought my dress from there. I didn't have any problems with them except when they initially lost my dress but the lady was very sweet and told me it probably went to a different store. She said to give her a week and she would locate it for me.She did exactly what she promised and I took my dress and went elsewhere for the alterations.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
Julybaby- For my friend's wedding- each BM was in a different state- we each got the bm dress at Davids on our own and it looked fine.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
It is great to buy the dress off the rack. If you are special ordering, give extra time and forget about alternations. They are so booked.

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
The one in Carle Place lost my friends wedding dress!!!
Then they could not find the order form and a lot of other things happened! Luckily, her dress came in and it looked really nice.
She said they were horrible to her!

Re: Thoughts on David's Bridal?
My BM's purchased there dresses from there. They were ok. I also dealt with Maria Elena and she was great help when I was looking. The girls did not get there alterations there as they told them it had to be scheduled a month in advance. If your planning to purchase there I would just purchase the dress and bring it to get your own alterations elsewhere.
