yea. I alwasy grew up with such a long complicated italian last name.. so goin from that to 'Thomas'.. i am super excited!! its short and sweet:)

I like his last name, and I always pictured myself taking his name.

Mine is alright, but no one can ever pronounce it properly, and when my ancestors came here from Ireland many moons ago, it ended up getting misspelled when they arrived. It used to have a 'Mc', and they changed it to 'Mag...'

Idiots.

I used to want to change it to what it was intended to be (McAgnes), but never bothered.

His last name is cool, and easy to pronounce. Score!

I don't think I'm going to take FH's last name unless we decide to have a family. He has a 15 letter greek last name and I always said I'd hyphenate, but how can i???? ugh!

I can't wait to drop my last name!!! It's Italian and nobody can pronounce it!! His last name is easy to pronounce and that's good enough for me

There was a similar post once before. There were people with all sorts of situations. In my case I´m lucky because I live in Ecuador and here you don´t change your last name. His is fine anyway so it wouldn´t be a big deal. However, my dad had all girls so it will be good that we are keeping his name in his bloodline. (hes italian)

Same here - I have a VERY Italian last name and now I'm going to be a Jones lol My family teases me all the time for it.

I really like his last name - but I LOVE my last name too!
I will be 30 when we get married and it is going to feel weird after 30 years to be called something else!

I like FH's last name because it means 'good time' in German, and also moves me from the back of the alphabet to the front!

However, I am sad about losing my last name. There are only girls in my family, so no one to carry on the name.

but not looking foward to signing a new name, i got so used to my signature, which is my initials, i may have to sign his whole name- just something to get used to.

I'm Peruvian and FH is Polish with a very polish hard to pronounce last name...

If I dont change my last name, he will not marry me! (or so he says...lol )

I like FH's last name. Probably because my current last name is HORRIBLE. (well it was worse in school) But I am so glad to be something else finally! My last name is so bad it just makes fun of itself, don't need to rhyme it with anything...it's just bad enough as is.

I hate FH's last name...as I've mentioned before, its pronounced like SKANK

But I hate my last name more...most of my family is named something else and my grandmother made my grandfather change it to distance him from his family...she was a c*nt and fortunately the name dies with me...

But now I get to be Ilana SKANK

At least it doesn't look how its said so I can pretend that's not actually my name hahaha

I am also hyphenating. For work I have to keep my last name because nobody will be able to find me. I like my last name even though it is have to spell, people butcher the spelling and at first have a hard time to pronounce but I still like it.

I am going from a normal last name to a very short Israeli last name. I always laugh that after living my entire life in Israel it took a move to US for me to become a full Israeli w/ a name and all
so I guess I like it. but it will be very weird to be named something else

I LOVEEE my last name and am very sad to have to change it. FH's last name is ok but mine is definatly cooler!!!!!

Anddd I also only have sisters so my last name ends here and that makes me sad
