Re: Do you feel like,,,Why Bother, no one really cares or notices...
I think my guests will notice all the little details. I am doing alot of little details. For the church, I am going to have the tissue envelopes and for the reception I am going to have seating card frames, menus and kissing bells.

While I think most older guys don't - my dad ahem ahem - that most guest don't necessarily say ''ohhhhhh she had a menu with so and so font and so and so stock paper' but they do get the feeling that a lot of work went into the wedding at it makes the whole day feel nicer

people def. notice menus! Other things, not so much! Also it depends on who the guests are! My friends from art school notised that everythign was color coordinated, that menus and programs matched the design of invitations, that favores were color-matched to everything as well! Older guests didn't really care about it, but I think they appreciated the menu!

I think people notice. They may not remember individual things, but they will remember as a whole that the wedding was beautiful.

I didnt really care if my guests were concerned about the 'little' things I did. I was!! It made me feel good to have everything coordinated! Do what you feel you want to. If making menus is too much...most halls will provide. If making your own place cards is not your bag...us the ones the hall provides. Its your wedding...do as much or as little as you want!
Good Luck!

Some do, some don't!
It was still important to me to add a few personal touches here and there, so it was worth my time and energy. A few ppl commented to me and my mom after the wedding how nicely everything was tied together, and that all of my hard work paid off, so that was very nice to hear.
Then again, a few others didn't get the whole connection between my Fall theme and naming my tables fall things like Sunflower, Autumn, etc so who knows! LOL
I think it really depends on what's most important to you and FH. If you don't want to bother and it's a waste of your time, and focus on the bigger things. But if it is important, then it'll be worth it in the end.

I personally think it's the little details that make a wedding different. Since the routine is cookie-cutter, the little things are what makes your guests remember.

I think some of the little things make the wedding that much more special and more about the two of you! And people do notice!
-I had my aunt in tears at our cocktail hour because I had her wedding picture out. She was SO touched, she cried. -I loved that my ring bearer pillow was made by my MIL from my mother's wedding dress. -we named our tables after dances, and then danced all night long. Guests got a big kick out of it. -and our favors represented us, and our heritage. -we handmade our invites and programs
The little things matter. I think no one notices if they're not there, but they appreciate them when they are.
A short story: my dad was talking to my uncle about something related to our wedding. My very unobservant uncle commented: 'Lisa put a lot of work into that wedding. I think Liz (his wife) spent all of 5 minutes on ours' (20 years ago). Isn't that sad?

I don't think people would miss the little things but they WILL notice them if they are there.
I am happy that we did a few extra things that made our wedding a little different. They also serve as nice momentos of the day.
If you are feeling overwhelmed (stress, time or expense) take everything on a case by case basis on what you want to include and what you dont.

Our guests at the e-party remembered the little things and there weren't that many. I think if they see it they will remember it. If it isn't there they won't realize its missing.

People notice the little things! I swear I put a lot of time and effort into the details and am so glad that I did. I have had many guests say 'Michele, you made sure every detail was perfect'. I KNOW people see a difference. Again, it is up to you but don't think people don't care. That is just not true. Plus I cared so that is all that really mattered.

i think women who have planned or are in the process of planning their weddings will notice. no one else really will.

Women remember the bride's dress, the flowers and the favors, men remember the booze (most men anyway), the other men, the hot chicks and both remember whether it was a great party (good music, lots of dancing etc).

You do these things b/c you want to personalize your wedding, not really for your guest. I put menus at each place setting some people did not even unroll them, I guessed they shared with their dates. Who knows. I think the little things gives your day character/personality. IF its not in you to do it, then don't. Most people don't do them anyway.

I am doing Table names, menu cards, wishbowl, framed placecards candles everywhere.
I really want my wedding to reflect me and FH's personality. I donot want an everyday run of the mill wedding.

Honestly, I don't have the time, energy, money or serviceable computer to do all that extra stuff. It's just more work and I'm already exhausted. Don't get me wrong, my wedding will be beautiful, but I just don't have the energy to take that extra step.
