I was allowed to look through and pick dresses to try on at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. (But maybe that was b/c the appointment before me over and I had to wait! I think they would let you browse if you asked.) They have a lot of nice stuff there! I worked with Vivienne - she was really sweet!

At Lillettes they initially did the picking for me. But when I asked if I could look through the racks too, they said ok.

RK Bridal in NYC has TONS of rack to look through. Also Iman Bridal lets you look through the racks. Lilettes does too.

I thought Paradise Bridal in Patchogue was very 'browser' friendly.

Another vote for RK Bridal. Just be sure you have a lot of time. I went twice and never looked through EVERYTHING! Best bet is during the week too so you can try on as much as you like. Otherwise on the weekends they limit the # of gowns you can try on b/c it's busier.

Rk Bridal in Manhattan was a great place to go because they have so many dresses...service isnt so great.

The Bridal Center in Lynbrook and The Wedding Center in Commack also let you look yourself. Have fun!!!

paradise bridal in patchogue and Valentina in brooklyn both let you browse.
Although I suggest at Valentina that you just tell him what you want and he will bring out something as close as he has to it and then will make whatever changes you want!
Bridal Reflections in Massapequa was very 'browser unfriendly' - the dresses are all downstairs and they just keep bringing things up for you to try on - very very frustrating!

JuneBride, I did not know that you were getting your gown in Valentina's. I love them!!! I am getting my gown and BM dresses in Valentina's.

I browsed in RK Bridal and in Macy's Bridal in Manhasset.

I don't trust a place that won't let me browse. I have such a range in my taste of what I like to wear and I also can pretty much gague what will and will not fit by looking at it that I'd rather browse than to have someone bring dresses out to me. Then again if the sales ladies are a pro they can do it and get it right.
