ok please give honest opinions, i would like to get an idea of how my guests would feel about it so thats why i want someone to be honest if they dont like it or think its stupid or any problems they see with it.
Ok for place cards i have 2 ideas. One of them is to do this whole tree place card thing. I have a picture of it but its done as a wishing well tree instead, i have a pic somewhere and it was done the same way but with placecards. I love the way it looks but then i think of problems such as ppl having to look all around it for their name, people pulling one side then the other, shorter ppl not reaching lol. The pic i saw where it was done for place cards it was on a long string and you just pull it off the branch easily.
Here is apic where it was done as a wishing well tree to give you an idea but the name tags with table numbers would look the same way hanging off, and would have to get more branches
i wish i had a pic of it used as placecards but cant find it right now

i think its a great idea but i do agree with the others that bcuz of the large number of guests u will have it might get a little hectic.

I absolutely love the tree - however, playing devil's advocate... I think you have quite a large invite list and it might get a little chaotic when everyone is looking for their name/table #.... just something to think about. But aesthetically, it's BEAUTIFUL.

yes, it can be annoying as it is to look for tags that are right side up... i can just see everyone head on an angle and everyone bumpin into one another looking sideways...
might be histerical to watch though
yeah i would def make sure the photographer gets a nice shot of that btw, sorry to be all debbie downer on your idea!!!!!

eta: You're inviting a lot of people. I would try and make it as easy as possible for the guests....
the other thing so far is simple, just do the same chocolate cardstock i used for invites the folded ones and use a blue cardstock over one of the sides to put names and table #'s and put 2 or 3 rhinestones on top. I think at michaels its like $3 or so for 100 or more.

my honest answer is nay.......you will have too many guests for a tree like that, it would be cute at a smaller party though

I wanted to do the tree also but I had the same thoughts as you. I couldnt imagine all of those people standing around searching for their names. I think it would work for a smaller group. We did the scroll and it came out really nice

I def. LOVE the place card tree idea! and that is a beautiful one too but my concern was yours as well...i was worried about it backing up and people looking for theirs. I saw one on stylemepretty.com that had 2 trees and in front of each tree was a-m and than n-z which may make it easier for them to locate if you really want to do it!

hahaha no its ok, i want honest opinions and didnt just say that. I thought about alot of the things people are mentioning and would rather my idea be turned down now rather than finding out at the wedding what a disaster it can be so thank you lol

it's very pretty, and would be nice if you were doing a photo shoot for a bridal mag. however, they are extremely impractical, especially if you have lots of guests. hard to find your card, hard to get it off, hard for multiple people to get their cards....
i guess a way to make it slightly easier is maybe do blue, brown and white... and have your color correspond with your portion of the abcs... but to be honest, while it looks nice it's probably more trouble than it's worth.

Thank you ladies for all your opinions, i guess i needed to hear them to realize my concerns were all real and can be difficult so it helped alot

I said no...you have so many people coming, that the poor little tree is going to be lopsided and missing branches by the time your guests are done picking their names off of it...

I love it - but I think with 300 guests it would be too difficult to find their names.
Maybe 3 separate 'trees' - the first one can be last names A-G, second one H-P, third, Q-Z - or something like that?

Yeah i have the picture on my home computer if you can't find it fm me and i will send it to you. It was done really nicely she purchased the branches and it was quite a bit of work but they turned out beautiful and she had the dangling crystals from it as well...the only thing as well for you is that you do have a lot of guests it might be difficult maybe you can cut it to three trees?? not sure how you feel about that...
