Everywhere I turn I see this pics of Jessica Simpson where they are not the most flattering pics and maybe she did gain a few pounds.. but SHE IS NOT FAT and I'm sick and tired of hearing about it on TV, Us Weekly, News Day, AM NY! ALL OF IT! These stupid 'news' people are sending horrible mixed messages by calling someone fat like that! So what if she's 5 pounds heaver.. it might even just be the bizarre angle they shot the pics from! Or the outfit! Truth be told if anyone saw her on the street... NO ONE WOULD SAY OMG LOOK HOW FAT SHE IS!
All these companies try so hard to get the message across that it's OK not to look like a rail thin model who hasn't eaten in years.. then they turn right around and pull this sh*t! All that does is send mixed messages to young impressionable girls! So instead they post and write all about her weight because why? Because she isn't rail thin like a starving model?????? Is that right? You want to post a pic of Star Jones before and say hey this isn't a healthy woman... ok fine... but don't go posting pics of celebs who are still in a healthy weight range and call them fat!!!!! I give a BIG F U to all the companies who reported this 'news' about her!

Don't get me wrong I think it is so stupid for the media to criticize her.
I have to honestly say that when I first saw her pics and before the media started talking about it I was like wow Jess looks a little bloated. I have to say that she did put on weight though, from looking at the pics. I just think that she was tiny before and now she got bigger in terms of being a normal size and people were not used to it and started talking about it.
Of course the way she dressed was super unflattering too.

i think bc her weight fluctuates so much, and that is what people are noticing....and everyone (not just famous people) are noticed (negatively) when they gain weight....how many times have you seen someone you havent seen in a while and been like 'wow shes put on some weight' and im sure it happens on the flip side as well.

its ironic that america is so consumed with celebs and their weight, considering we have so many obsese people (and im one of them according to ww)

DISCLAMER: i am over 140 pounds and i am in no way a skinny model...

i agree with you....but why wear an outfit like this if you are in the spot light and know your pic will be taken...high waist jeans only work for tiny girls...its a proven fact.

I agree she is not FAT... but I think the hype is bc she used to look like this

so it is a big difference for HER.... but she is gorgeous at any weight

She's become a millionaire based off of her looks alone, her job is to work out and look like a poster girl. She gets paid MILLIONS for this.

It's like any of us showing up at our jobs suddenly unable to perform.

It's not fair that she is judged by her looks, but that's her choice for being in that industry. I don't feel sorry for her, the same thing happens to Janet Jackson/Oprah/Britney ect....it's the choice they made.

That being said, i think she looks great ...I'm far from a size zero so I'm no one to criticize.

And even for actresses.. I dont believe they all need to be super duper skinny either! I belive the average ones and the overweight ones are worth just as much if not more at times because they are more relatable. It's sad that in order do make records now you have to be PERFECT all around! I wouldn't buy someone's album because they LOOKED good.. I'd buy it because I like how they SOUND and becuase I can relate to them.

Think about it this way....
what size was Maralyn Monroe? A 10 or 12? Something like that. Now Jessica is nowhere's near that and she's being riduculed and yet Maralyn is this huge icon and sex symbol etc... that wasn't even too long ago.. look at how much the social status has changed over these years? And the majority to blame are all these tabloids and newpapers and new reporters etc. Why isn't Maralyn's more normal figure OK to have anymore? Why can't there be more celeb role models with curves?

That is so funny, FH and I were just watching Some Like It Hot last night (great movie- watch it if you haven't seen it) and FH is like, - holy crap Marilyn had a giant ***!

I understand that sex sells.. but its sad to blast these stupid pics all over the place as if it's this HUGE news story. And some of the things being said are just over the top and exaggerated.
To tell you the truth.. I like her.. but I'm not even a huge fan. It has nothing to do with her on a personal level.. it's the overall portrayal that I have a problem with. I just think it sends the wrong messages!

Well, that I completely agree with. Isn't our economy falling apart? Don't we have a new President ect. ect. Ww have lots of other things to focus on. Good ol' tabloids.

And as proof of those wrong messages.. how many of us out there have had some sort of issue with how we looked or what we weighted? How many of us have had eating disorders? How many of us are making ourselves sick over losing weight to fit into a dress (ha ha I know I am!)? How many young girls are out there now seeing these pics and thinking to themselves.. wow she is smaller than I am and look waht they say about her? WHat must I look like?

Now natrually I know and understand that some problems are internal... but when you add this external factor into it.. it's just a recipe for disaster.

Ha ha.. there's tons and tons of more important issues to report on.. and the saddest part is that i'm not talking just about tabloids... it's in the NEWSPAPERS and on the news as well! Tabloids are one thing..but when it's crossing over onto the news and all..that's even worse.
Please don't take offense to anything I am writing. idon't want you to think I am personally attacking you. I just feel very strongly about this issue.

As much as I liked her sister standing up for her and for girls in general, she is not the one to talk. She had a nose job herself and she is kind of sending mixed messages imo, since she obviously could not accept herself with the nose she was born with...just saying

Marilyn Monroe was a 10/12 for that time period but her measurements put her at more like a 6/8 by today's standards.

I agree that I think it's the outfit more than anything else. She should accept her new curves and wear something to flatter them instead of that horrible outfit. She has a gorgeous face and I don't think it would matter how thin/fat she was, she would still be a knock out.
