Your engagement ring...do you know...

How much it cost? Just curious...

I have NO IDEA how much my ring was and lately after some comments from friends i have been stressing about how much my fiance might have spent! i don't want to ask him but i am wondering...am i in the minority? Do most girls know how much their ring was?

I know what mine cost. I was the one that picked it out.

Don't stress about the cost! Just enjoy what he chose for you!

Do you think your FH spent more or less than what you were thinking? Are your friends making negative comments?

If i know the carat size and color letter can i find out an approximate range without having to ask him?

I know how much, because we picked out the diamond together and had it custom made from our jeweler. FH reminds all the time as well how much it cost...LOL (warning me not to lose it)

i would never stress if i thought he spent less...im just worried that he may have spent way to much...

i know i shouldn't worry and just enjoy it but, in the back of my mind i am so curious now...

I can guess - if I wanted to. But the way I look at it...the ring was a gift from my FH - I wouldn't ask him how much he spent on my birthday, why would I ask him how much he spent on my e-ring? I think it's kinda rude. But that's just me.

Personally I think it's rude for anyone - friend, family member, stranger - to comment on the size, cost, quality, etc. of your e-ring. Don't let your friends lack of manners sway you into doing something you didn't think of doing on your own.

I know, only because I found out by accident. FH left the insurance info out on our coffee table one day and I looked at it - OOPS! He was upset because he didn't want me to know how much it was worth.

i know and only because of the appraisal and insurance paperwork for it.

Have you had your ring insured yet? Usually, you need to get your ring appraised for the insurance company. My ring is family heirloom, but I was still curious as to how many carats and what quality it was. I'm not sure how much an appraisal costs though but I'm told, don't let your ring out of your sight if you go to someone you don't know.
Good Luck!

I was there when she quoted him, plus we have papers that appraise it at twice what he paid for it.

I know...but don't stress. He spent that money b/c he wanted to and b/c he loves you....
There is no reason you NEED to know unless it's for insurance or something.

I'd almost rather not know.....
