what area, i am not from LI so i know more restaurants in other areas, although Ive gone out to eat in LI a decent amount of time

I went to a RD at Vittorio's and the food was delicious, the place was nice too.

We love On the Border. It's chain mexican but it's SO good. They give you chips and salsa when you sit down and their prices are really cheap. We both get appetizers as our meals and it's usually less than $25 without alcohol. We went there on our first date so our anniversary dinners are really cheap.

Also if you're out east, try Good Steer, which is on Middle Country Road just slightly east of the Smithaven Mall in Lake Grove. It's got EXCELLENT burgers and onion rings, good BBQ, great Manhattan clam chowder, and their blue cheese dressing is fantastic I hear (I don't eat blue cheese). They have a chef's salad that's great and you can add onion rings to the top (my mom's favorite). My dad has been going there since he was a child and he's passed that tradition on to me and my sister. They've been family owned and operated for over 60 years.

Wow, you have two of my favorites on your list. We love Erin's Isle and Luigi's. The steak place next door (I forgot the name) is sooooo good too.

I love sushi at Akiyama in College Point or Watawa in Astoria.

For a really special meal we always go to the Polo Lounge at Westbury Manor. Delicious!

I left out Cafe Joelle, one of my favorites and Sayville.

Also the Argyle Cafe in Babylon.

This thread really made me want to go to the Melting Pot.
