I LOVE my last name. It may sound weird.. But I love the fact that my first, middle and last name all have 6 letters... I like how its even.

FH's last name sounds weird to me (its only 5 letters).. and its going to throw off the 'even' name i already have.

I tell him I will take his last name, but I am going to add a letter at the end

I love the fact that I will be taking FH's last name and I have to say it's a big improvement from my own last name which no one I have ever met is able to pronounce correctly... as a matter of fact when I call back vendors they remember who I am because of the really odd impossible to pronounce last name lol

As far as FH's last name is concerned it is VERY italian, which will be a nice change but I'm having the absolute hardest time writing it in script! There's a double Z smack in the middle of his last name and I find it impossible to write without my hand like cramping! It's like I get to the second z and my mind goes blank!

FH is actually changing his last name this week to his mothers Maiden name. I am happy bc i like this name a lot better. Its an italian name and it goes better with my name than a German last name! I love it!!!!

I am NOT happy about my new last name. I have a really distinct firstname I think, and my last name just sounds right with it. His last name sounds like crap with my first name, at least I think so. FH last name is completely generic and about 1000000000000 other people have it, so Im not very happy about it. Plus we will actually have the same title as a very popular Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie movie which makes it even worse
FH actually wants me to hyphenate, but Im a good old fashioned girl, so I will just suck it up and deal.

I've always HATED my last name. Lets just say it rhymes with a deli meat and always got made fun of as a kid. But I would rather keep my last name than take FHs. I hate his more!! Its so long and doesnt have a nice sound to it But I like the idea of taking my husbands name.. so even though i hate it, i'll be taking it.

I had the same problem (minus the deli meat). My last name is very easy to make fun of. I like FH's last name. We're both Irish, but his last name is 'more Irish' sounding than mine, so I'm keepin the ethnicity going!

I am fine about changing my last name. I am not super excited but not really sad either. I think I am just used to my last name and the way it sounds, but I will eventually get used to his last name after my first. Both of our last names are italian and a little long, so it really won't make a difference. The only thing is people never mess up his last name b/c it is easier to pronounce from looking at the spelling as all my life people have said mine wrong

ok this is an embarrassing admission. i have been dating FH for 9 years now...and i have been practicing signing my first name and his last name ever since we started dating!

haha i am so not kidding. good thing we decided to get married...i sign his name better than my own!!

ill make it less embarassing for you.. and admit i have been doing that for the last few months.. trying to get myself used to it, and make it less strange looking to me.

OMG my first and last name has seven letters but i am lucky bc FHs first and last name both have seven letters! Thank goodness I am staying even - otherwise i dont know what i would do!

i can't wait to take his last name - not just bc it is pretty but I can't wait to be a real family

the only reason i am sad that i am NOT keeping MY name is bc my SIL did not take our last name but at least my brother's baby girl has our name!

I like my last name, but I am very happy about taking his last name. My new initials are KC, my brother has changed my name in his phone to 'Sunshine' as in KC and the Sunshine Band.

changing my name was one of the few things that my DH asked for.....and i wish he wouldn't have.

i LOVE my maiden name--and i'm just not a fan of my married one. but he's a sweetheart and he really didn't ask me for too much in the wedding planning, and helped give me the wedding that i dreamed of. (and he wanted it too of cousre) so he made a big deal about the name change....and i gave in. but i wish i could have kept my name!

My last name is really cool and original. My brothers and I have always been called by our last name by all of our friends because its cool!
FH's last name is so cookie-cutter. Its normal and boring.
