I love my last name! FI's last name is irish/scottish so it's weird to me. I have decided to hyphenate my name mainly becasue both of my parents are deceased and I want to keep a little piece of them with me.


I guess I will be like Jada Pinkett-Smith &
Tisha Campbell-Martin.

After I change my last name FMIL & I will have the same name!!!

They already refer to us as big Anna and little Anna.

I love my last name...it translates to king/emperor in english...his means nothing! But we are compromising...I'm keeping my name professionally, but taking his name socially.

My current last name doesn't mean anything nearly as cool, but I want to keep it professionally anyway. (FH HATES this idea. Sigh). So I'll be Ms. P*** at work and Mrs. M*** the rest of the time. Our kids will have his name.

I am excited about my soon to be new last name-----it works for me too! I am a first grade teacher and my new last name will have a color word in it.
I know that sounds silly.....but anything to teach the kiddies a concept ha ha ha ha ha

I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL 100% ITALIAN NAME TO GO WITH MY 100% ITALIAN PRINCESS THAT I AM.

MY FH, WHO IS 75% ITALIAN, HAS HIS 25% LITHUANIAN LAST NAME.....I'M GOING FROM A A NICE VOWEL ENDING TO A ICZ ENDING.....UGH!!

EVEN MY STUDENTS MAKE FUN OF MY NEW LAST NAME!!!

I really like his last name because it's a lot shorter and a lot easier to pronouce than my last name. His only has 4 letters and mine has 7 but I'm still going to miss the way everyone mispronounces it.

I don't hate my last name but I'm used to it... definitely tired of everyone misspelling it and mispronouncing it. It's always made people question my ethnicity (everyone says I look latina but I'm 1/2 asian and 1/2 jewish!). FH last name is Scottish, so my first name and his last name sound kind of weird together, and when people read it their reactions will definitely be interesting!! I'm pretty excited.

This is actually the thing I am having the hardest time with....I love my last name, and my first and last name sound so much better together!! Everyone that hears his is like...ohhhhhh.....it isn't good...it rhymes with 'baller'.........

I even thought of using my last name as my middle name, I know a few people that have done that...but in my line of work, it might be the best thing if I change it if I end up working around where I live currently. My family has been in this town forever, and everyone knows someone from my extended family, which isn't always that best thing ...

Who knows...FH is really cool about it...he even would be ok with me keeping my last name....so I am not to sure what I am going to do, but I don't really like hyphenated last names. DECISIONS!! AHH....

This is actually a big deal for me. I really have mixed feelings about changing my name. I am really not sure what I will do. I don't think I want to have both mine and his...Lets just say I am very confused about this part....

OMG my first and last name has seven letters but i am lucky bc FHs first and last name both have seven letters! Thank goodness I am staying even - otherwise i dont know what i would do!

i can't wait to take his last name - not just bc it is pretty but I can't wait to be a real family

the only reason i am sad that i am NOT keeping MY name is bc my SIL did not take our last name but at least my brother's baby girl has our name!

This just made me take the time to think about how long my name is....8 each first and last....and so is FH's! I never thought of that...but i'm still going to hypenate. I don't know but something about changing my name just doesn't sit right with me..but i've been going back and forth about it

i love my name.. but im glad to be getting rid of it.. because 90% of my dads side suck at life.. (theyre not really nice to me)... anywhos if i were to hyphenate it would be 15 letters and thats insane.. i actually wanted to combine our names to make a new one.. but that didnt fly either but it sounds soo good (there is an actor with the name -- and i lovveee it) fh is in love with his name and hes taking over his dads business soo i guess we are keeping it... its def gonna be an adjustment for me.. i better keep practicing my 'K's' lol
