Your wedding date....

This may have been done before...

Why did you choose your wedding date?

ETA: We chose the beginning of Oct. because it's not too hot and definitely not too cold. I personally love the colors of the fall, they're so bold and they photograph so well. My parents wedding anniversary is 2 days before on the 1st. Also, we originally wanted Sept. 26, but when we went to book CLM, they told us it would be cheaper per person if we moved it back to Oct., so we pushed it back one week.

We chose it because it is the Sunday after our anniversary. We wanted to do a saturday night wedding which would have been our real 5 year anniversary but way too much

Our wedding date was chosen because it's the first weekend after Easter of 2008. Since my wedding is on a Friday I couldn't do it during lent because I would have people who couldn't eat meat.

That and it's as close to April as we can get without April prices!!!

Friday in November = cheap......and it was the only day we could get at Giorgio's from Oct-Nov.....so we took it because we LOVE Giorgio's

Choose May 25 because It's a holiday the next day, not too cold or too hot, college will be out.

Ask your church - you can definitely get a dispensation for a wedding, we did it once for some other kind of party

if you want to make your guests feel more comfortable and enjoy themselves without worrying about meal restrictions - you get a dispensation and then maybe put a paper on each table with this information

it may not be important to you ( and trust me i would eat meat at my wedding no matter what. . . lol) BUT i bet some of your older guests would appreciate it - esp people like my parents who FAST every Friday during lent

you should check it out! of course it is entirely up to you but just wanted to let you know!

I wanted Spring and it would be cheaper having it one week before so April it was.

When we decided to push it back.. i looked at the calendar and saw our anniversary was on a saturday.. so thats why we chose our date now

jan 16 2008 - ten year anniversary
the weekend after is MLK Jr weekend and we didnt want a holiday weekend
saturday before - jan 12!

winter bc FH is off from work for the winter!

our 7 year anniversary is .07.01.08. which is a Tuesday.

so we decided to have the wedding the Friday before so that we will be on our anniversary for our honeymoon.

and we will get to celebrate both dates in one trip possibly each year.

We picked 2/29/08 because we said I love you for the first time on February 28th and next year is a leap year so we figured it was near our 'I love you' anniversary and what could be better than a leap year date wedding?!?!

There were alot of reasons we picked 2/29.

The first contributing factor was that we didn't want to wait too long after our 10/5/06 engagement to get married. I originally wanted to get married in October (it's my favorite month!!) but October of 07 was just too close for us money wise. I knew I definetly didn't want to get married too close to my birthday (4/26) or in the summer (too expensive and too HOT). We didn't want to get married on our actual anniversary either because we always had a problem with it being too close to the holidays (it's 1/3). So one day we're sitting in the car and I mention that there is a Leap Day in '08, he says 'That day would be awesome, I wonder if it's a weekend'. So i whipped out my cell phone and looked at the calander and it was a Friday!! A Friday in February = Great Prices and it wasn't too close or too far away, so it was pretty much set right then.

Plus every 4 years I get the special bonus of actually having a real anniversary date, otherwise we'll be celebrating March 1st.

We wanted to do it as quickly as possible and my FH's family has to fly in and the flights are cheapest then.

we always wanted a june wedding! i was leaning towards the end of june b/c from the first to the third week of june i had so many birthdays & functions to go to & i just liked how june 28 08 sounded plus its 3 days b4 my mom's 60th b-day! so we will definitely 'PARTY' at my wedding!
