Hard Rock & Metal Brides!
My FH & I started discussing intro music for the bridal party & ourselves last night & we're at a loss...we don't want a dance song that we hate/never heard of, but we don't know what to use...a lot of what we like the most is either just too hard or inappropriate
Any ideas or suggestions? If you don't mind, can you please let me know what you're using?Oh and we will not be using Crazy Train or Welcome to the Jungle - IMHO they've been done too much (by our friends & family)...Enter Sandman is a small possibility for the BP, but since our 1st dance song is 'Nothing Else Matters' we're trying not to use it...we don't want our wedding to seem like a Metallica tribute (even though we do LOVE them!!) Thanks!!

Re: Hard Rock & Metal Brides!
FH is a big Motley Crue fan, so I wanted to do Girls Girls Girls for the bo-k toss, but we're no longer doing the toss, so now I'm thinking of playing it when the BP comes out. We're also thinking of Kickstart my Hear for when we enter (wouldn't do Girls then for the BP) or Ladies & Gentlemen by Saliva when we come out.

Re: Hard Rock & Metal Brides!
we are doing a mixed intro song that luckily family did for us (we have a huge amounts of family in bands who also went to school for recording) but honestly nothing too fancy. It is Rain in Blood by Slayer (yea kinda campy and old but its recognizable and cool) into a sample of Obiturary and goes right into our first song which is Tori Amos version of Thank you.For BP we are doing Misfits since it is fun and still cool.
We are throwing in a pyrexia or internal bleed song for me somewhere in the wedding as either fh's garter toss or bq toss - kinda pitting music for the choas.

Re: Hard Rock & Metal Brides!
We actually wanted to use a system of a down song at first for our entrance. One that would go with a wedding is BYOB, i know its one of their more popular over played songs lol but probably would go bestduring the wedding for a slow song fh and i are using 'vermillion pt 2' by slipknot
Or for bp entrance what about 'let the bodies hit the floor' or maybe a song by marilyn manson such as dopeshow, or beautiful people
its still early in the morning and im not fully awake lol ill think of more things

OMG - I LOVE Ladies & Gentlemen - that's a great idea! Really fits...See? I knew we were forgetting some obvious choices!
Thanks! I'm adding this one to the list!

Awesome - Reign in Blood was my first Slayer album back in high school (I won't tell you how long ago that was! lol). I like the mix idea - my brother is an audio engineer, so maybe I can bug him if we can't choose just one song (he's already shortening our first dance song for us - it's 6 1/2 minutes!). Thanks!

ok - i need help from THIS GROUP for sure!! my guy is in to metal - big time. how about the fact that we have the inside joke of him singing bad 80's hair metal songs to me ...and now even though it means something to the two of us, i really don't want 'finally found the love of a lifetime' as our 1st dance! lololol to mee its more a giggle song cause he'll sing full on to me - i know he's making a goofy but he means it too. :) lolol we have no shame!here's another one i'm tryin to figure out. my honey is a big alice in chains fan....lolol, guess i could do some acoustic of them on the playlist?

Re: Hard Rock & Metal Brides!
We're actually going to see if our DJ will do a medley of all the songs FH wants to hear. He has a few songs he wants played, but to play them all in their entirety, well, I don't see the guests enjoying that. We put together about 7 songs that we'd like to mix together, maybe play while we're eating desert or something, esp since we're cutting the cake to Pour Some Sugar on Me. FH is all about the bad 80s hair metal bands, so we're trying to get it in the best way we can.

Re: Hard Rock & Metal Brides!
Our first dance song is Thank you- led zeppelin, you can always do Stellar by Incubus if you want to go a romantic routeyou could do -you shook me all night long by AC/DC but that's kinda common or you could do its a long way to the top....or even for those about to Rock,...that one would be awesome!!!
Can I play with Madness for the BP entrance- kinda works LOL
I can't really think of any that's 'wedding friendly' without ruining the integrity of the affair....

OMG - Disturbed it totally my favorite band & I was listening to everything I have with me here at work this morning, but can't find anything appropriate so far...
That's the problem - we love Korn, System of a Down, Drowning Pool, etc. but while we want the music to represent US, we also don't want to scare all the grannies and family members who will just be like 'what?!?' We're trying to find a good 'happy medium' song, you know?

Ooh - I like that...it's different...a little funky. I'll run it by my FH as a possibility - not too sure it's HIS style though lol

Re: Hard Rock & Metal Brides!
I REALLY wanted to have our first dance be, 'We're in this together now' by Nine Inch Nails - but that would SCARE the CRAP out of people!!!!! Read the words - it's BEAUTIFUL!!! It's us against the world lyrics...so appropriate for everything we've gone through...still thinking of maybe using it... I was thinking we could always type out the lyrics and place them on the tables - so for those who are scared - they can read the lyrics & feel warm & fuzzy..
