Honorary Grandparent Question
Hello, I have some time before my wedding.. lol about 150 more days! But I was just wondering if anyone has some advice for wording or how to mention my situation. Both sets of my grandparents have passed away. I wasen't close to my father's parents but very close to my mothers. I have always made mention of my maternal grandparents even my sweet 16 my Grandfather was sick but I dedicated a song and candle (of when I see you smile, by bad english).. Well anyway now my wedding day is coming and my fiance family has both set of his grandparents and I love them dearly, and they all care for me but it just hurts me that mine will not be there and he has two sets. Lucky him! Well anyways, my Godfather is in his 80's and is my grandfather's older brother and they look alike too. His wife is not my godmother, my mom's best friend is.. but anyway. I have been very close to him, as is my mom and when she called him to announce my enagement we both asked him to please attend if he could (he is in florida) and that I would really be honored if he could stand in with his wife as my honorary Grandfather. Needless to say, I cried my mom cried and he cried.. and he is coming (geesh, I am even crying now)... Ok, well her is my question for everyones sake I don't want anyone to call him my Grandfather needless to say we will all be wrecks especially my mother if she hears that so I decided I am threatening the DJ company as well as the photographer to watch what they say. But yet, what do I call him. I don't want to have him as just my godfather because I will not be including my godmother in certain pictures and the last thing I need is my fiance's family adding even more people to certain shots. I guess I could put next to his name Godfather and brother of the brides grandfather or something like that.. but I dunno.. I'm just looking for ideas. (?) **I really hope I am making sense*** :)

Well how do you usually address him? Uncle, Great Uncle or Godfather? I would stick with whatever I usually use. I dont think you have to worry about it good vendors are very sensitive to this sort of thing. Just alert your photographer that you want a picture with your Godfather. If you are going to dedicate a dance to him your DJ or Band will be able to deal with it.Welcome New Vendors
