How late is too late to send out your wedding thank you cards

I just recently got our wedding thank you cards from our photograher, but I've been so busy between work and school that I haven't had a chance to sit and write any out. We've been married for 91 days now and I'm really starting to feel horrible for not getting them out.

My goal is to get them all out by mid May because at that point at least I won't have school work to do on the weekends. Will waiting until we're 5 months married to send them out really rude?!

I think it's just important to get them out there and write something thoughtful!! We sent ours out at the 6 mth mark .. and although I would've LOVED to have gotten them out early.. it didn't happen!! Also there were 3 other weddings this past year and none of them went out before 5 mths and actually one of them got married 10 mths ago and still no thank you!

I just mailed mine this morning! I finished writing them 138 days after the wedding. I wanted to get them done within 3 months (which would have been v-day) but while I had picked out the picture, I wasnt happy with the actual cards the photographer sent so that took about another month. Once I got the actual cards, I had them all written out within 2-3 weeks.

I think it's never too late to send them out. Just do it ASAP, and if people ask questions tell them you had to wait for them to arrive, which is obviously not a lie.

If you do them a little bit at a time and send them out as you go it won't seem like it's as much work and it'll get done faster. That's what we did and I had all of them done within two months.

well we were married 8/8 & had them all mailed by 12/22...so it took us a while

I am terrible!! We still have not sent ours out yet. DH and I have to still pick out a picture and have the photographer print them. I feel really bad but our schedules are crazy and we just can't seem to decide on a picture. I will have them out before the one year mark. Like some of the other girls said better late then never.

i agree that better late than never. i'm one of those guests that gets highly offended when i do not receive a thank you card so even if it was 6 months down the line i would be happy to have at least gotten one. and i always appreciate when it looks like they actually took a few minutes to write something nice.
that being said, since im a freak about thank you cards....i wrote my bridal shower ones out the night of my shower so people had them 3 days later and my weding thank yous went out exactly one month after my wedding date. im a freak i know

If you get them out mid May I think you're fine!

Etiquette says you have a year, I suggest if you CAN, try to get them out within 6 months.

Not gonna lie, it was a tough job doing Thank You's. I'm so glad we're done with them.

Its funny because I am staring at my box of Thank Yous right now. I am going to work on them little by little, but its hard!

I haven't done ours yet either!! We didn't even pick our picture...but we don't have too many to pick from so I've been putting it off. Too disappointed in my pictures.

They will get out eventually I hope!

No, we sent ours out just before the 5-month mark. Of course, we did not get our pro pics for 3 months and then we had to design and order our cards, but once we received them they were out within the week. We just received one that was 7+ months after the wedding.

Oh god, so happy I got these over with.

Pam best thing to do is every weekend try to knock out a few in the morning...like he writes 10, you write 10 and after a few weeks, voila, you're done!

Thats what we did and it was the best way to do it...we did a family wave mailing, and friend wave one and two...lol

I received a Thank You about 14 months after a wedding. At first i was like oh yea i forgot about that & then second i said well better late then never. So its never too late. Even though i sent mine at the three month mark. I still say its nice to receive a TU!

I just sent mine out last month! I still didn't even get out the international gift givers/parent/vendor cards!

In our case we did not get out thank you cards until the 7 month mark but still... I slacked and am going to finish the last 10 cards or so this weekend.

we finished ours about a month ago, we were right around the 6 month mark. I felt badly about sending them out so late and even got a snooty comment from my aunt, but whatever. some people don't realize that it time in between the wedding day and actually GETTING the ty cards in your hands is a process, not to mention the time it takes to write them all out.
