An update on my Grandma'Last Update'

Update: Just wanted to let anyone who didn't know already that today my grandma passed away. Thanks you all for the prayers, I am sure they have helped my family through the last few days.

You ladies were all so generous with your prayers and well wishes I figured I would give you an update. I wish it were good news but unfortunately it isn't.

The cancer has returned, there is a lemon sized tumor at the base of her skull. She also has pneumonia and mersa, which is a sever staff infection, both have been resitant to medication for the last 2 weeks. At some point she also wasn't getting enough enough oxygen and has irreversible neurological damage in her legs. The pain she is in is so severe the only way to keep her comfortable is to keep her sedated. The doctors informed us that they have done all they can and now can only keep her comfortable.

As I write this I am sitting in Sloan Kettering hospital. We had a priest come and give her the last rights and removed the ventilator this afternoon. Now we're just waiting. They said it could be hours it could be a day or two.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know what was going on. Thank you so much for all the prayers in the past and if you can spare a few more just to help my family get through this I would really appreciate it. I am doing my best to be strong for my mother, aunt, my little sister and younger cousins but I could also use some prayers, at times I can feel it becoming too much to handle.

Oh Christina, I am so so sorry. I remember after my grandma had a really bad stroke, things just started to go downhill so fast that we all just prayed that God would take her. It's the most difficult time ever, but just remember your grandma for all the good memories. Know that she'll always be watching over you when she passes.
