Another HM question...who got free upgrades??

I have nothing but Honeymoon on my mind! We are booked for 4 flights- JFK to LAX, then LAX to Honolulu (and back again). There are LOTS of seats still available in Business and First class-what are the chances I can play the 'We are on our honeymoon-can you bump us please' and get away with it? The last leg is a red-eye, so its the one I REALLY want!

How many of you Newlyweds played the 'Honeymoon card', and were successful for either hotel/flight/excursions/ meals?

We also went to Hawaii and the airline could careless that we were on our honeymoon so no upgrade for us, boo :( Same for my friend who went to Hawaii. I guess almost everyone going to Hawaii is usually on their honeymoon so they were unphased LOL It is still worth a shot tho :) We did get upgrades for our car rental and were twice upgraded for our room so it is always worth saying :)

i tried it with cruise lines and it didn't work

the only thing it got us was to move to the front of the check in line because we were wearing 'bride' and 'Groom' sweatshirts

ETA: the only places that wanted to give us discounts was the rental car place

I didnt get any upgrades but the flight attendant gave me free liquor on the plane (dont like flying and I already bought on so it was a bonus)

We got upgrades to our hotel room on every island, plus free champagne. Some restaurants gave us free desserts.

Nothing!!!!!!! Nada! Zip! Zilch! Zero!

Cruise lines could care less - but i have to say, they are already all inclusive in a sense (except for drinks anyway)However, we got a bunch of additional special desserts made just for us with our names on them and our wedding date! So sweet!

nothing got a voucher for a massage and some champagne but i guess i can't complain - our HM rockeddddddddd

We got a ton of upgrades- granted we went to Disney world for our HM though.

We got an upgraded suite at our hotel, we got fast passes on all of the rides from the staff, and personalized menus with our names and wedding dates on them along with free desserts.

definitely did not get free upgrades on our flights, for our honeymoon OR for two other trips we took to hawaii.... usually they could care less because on the day of the flight, there are people who will pay to upgrade.

But hotels and restaurants have been much more generous with upgrades! I used the honeymoon card and I even used our engagement when we were in Vegas about a month after we got engaged... if the worst they could say is 'No' I say give it a shot!!

they didn't do it for us-it seems those days are gone. however, one of the attendants told us to go to the kiosk. if you go to the kiosk and there are seats available you can get bumped up for a fraction of the price. I believe we only paid an extra $300 to get bumped to first class as opposed to $1500 they wanted to charge us.

we did get lots of upgrades from the hotel though free of charge :)The honeymoon card worked great with the hotels. :)

we got bumped from the jacuzzi suite to the presidential suite in Aruba. Instead of 1 jacuzzi and a balcony we had 2 jacuzzis and 3 balconies and a dining room and living room adn 2 bathrooms...heaven..i want to go back!
