Crashing...

Hi ladies. I had no idea there was a NW board until today so if you don't mind i would love to ask you a question about your big day. As my day is approaching i am trying to work out the personal touches and i was curious to know what was the biggest hit at your wedding...small detail, big detail...etc. TIA

Re: Crashing...

photobooth! I know a few people think it's overdone but the majority of guests had never been to a wedding with one before and they loved it!

Oh and i did a slipper basket at the last minute and they were all gone and I see my friends wearing their chinese slippers all the time

regarding cotton candy - my friend had that at her wedding and the kids really seem to enjoy it

Re: Crashing...

My cousin had cotton candy and snow cones at her wedding! It was also a kid friendly event! The best was having vodka snow cones for adults! YUM!

Re: Crashing...

The food!!! Everyone still raves about the amount and the quality!

Also, the VH, the take home boxes, and the roasted peanut cart set up outside when guests were leaving. My guests loved the fact that three different people got to take home the centerpieces and the favor was 2 fold (wine and luggage tag).

Re: Crashing...

Shawl bakset, flip flop basket cigar bar and bathroom basket (some people were amazed that I made the bathroom baskets and that ther weren't from the RH - I though everyone knew that ) Also our wine favors with personalized labels were a big hit.

Re: Crashing...

the take home boxes for VH were a hit! i can't wait to attend a wedding where i can do that too

also, small details like our favors which were truffles in a jar and we used it as seating cards as well was something else the guests noticed, as well as the personalized matches and napkins which i didn't think people would even notice

For the shawl basket, I ordered about 50 shawls in my wedding colors, on line (I forget the website, but they came out to less than $2.00 each), then I rolled them and tied each one with a ribbon. I put them in a basket with a sign that said 'To have and to hold. . . To keep from being cold' - it was pretty breezy on my wedding day and our ceremony was outside and on the water, so they were definitely a big hit.

I def didn't have any left, but just sent you FM about where I got them from. When you go to the site, look at the 'dozen pack' pricing.

We used a vendor called Cotton Candy Time. We only had it the last hour, and they were able to make us whatever color we wanted. We chose purple to go with our decor and but with a traditional berry not grape taste. She was so awesome, and it was a decent price too! I for sure recommend her!
