Re: Crock pot

One girl once said that she made chicken catchatorie with it. (I know I didn't spell that right). You can also use most meats.

I am sure if you googled crockpot recipes, you will fine an abundance of goodies!

The only thing that comes to mind for me is pot roast lol

Re: Crock pot

I have made beef stew, pot roast, stuffed peppers and sauce in it so far. The sauce was the only one I wouldnt really recommend. It burned a little.

Yeah like I want to know real things that you girls have tried and if they worked. Internet recipes are sometimes questionable.

Re: Crock pot

amazing chili- brown the meat with onion, add seasonings, beans, 1 can tomato sauce (small ones) and a large can of diced tomatoes- 8-10 hours is best

pot roast- buy a roast, rub onion soup mix on it, pour a can of diet coke on it, add veggies and cook 8-10 hours is best

drunken chicken- take chicken parts, pour about 1/2 a bottle white wine over it, add a little dijon mustard (I usually add 1/4 cup) and cook for 4-6 hours

i also make meatballs in it, and use it for parties to keep the food warm. I have a bunch of recipe- i'll put them together tonight and post them here tomorrow

Thanks girls. I'd really like to start throwing things into it in the morning, and not worrying about dinner at 5pm.

Re: Crock pot

I just made this yesterday and it was really good

slow cooker chicken taco soup

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 onion, chopped
* 1 (16 ounce) can chili beans
* 1 (15 ounce) can black beans
* 1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
* 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
* 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
* 2 (10 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
* 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning
* 3 whole skinless, boneless chicken breasts
* shredded Cheddar cheese (optional)
* sour cream (optional)
* crushed tortilla chips (optional)

1. Place the onion, chili beans, black beans, corn, tomato sauce, beer, and diced tomatoes in a slow cooker. Add taco seasoning, and stir to blend. Lay chicken breasts on top of the mixture, pressing down slightly until just covered by the other ingredients. Set slow cooker for low heat, cover, and cook for 5 hours.
2. Remove chicken breasts from the soup, and allow to cool long enough to be handled. Stir the shredded chicken back into the soup, and continue cooking for 2 hours. Serve topped with shredded Cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips, if desired.
