I haven't used my Crock Pot yet but yesterday I bought a Slow Cooker Cookbook from Williams Sonoma. It has over 80 recipes in it. You may want to check that out.
I have that book too but my mom has it right now so I haven't made any recipes out of it. I let her borrow it because she just got a slow cooker. I get the feeling it will be awhile before I get it back.Is there a recipe for chicken and dumplings in that book? I think I remember seeing a recipe like that that looked good.
No Chicken and Dumplings in mine. :( The one I bought is Art of the Slow Cooker. The other one they had was a giant hardcover one. It was prolly in that book.
Ah I think I have the big hardcover one. I will have to check out the book you are talking about.

I never made this recipe but Epicurious usually has great recipes.
Chicken Paprikash with Sour Cream
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon hot paprika
1 garlic clove, peeled and halved
3 pounds chicken legs
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup chicken stock or low-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup sour cream
Fresh dill, chopped, for garnish
Special equipment:
Slow cooker
In slow cooker, stir together onions, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and paprika. Spread mixture evenly over bottom of insert.
Rub garlic halves over chicken, then sprinkle chicken with pepper and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt. In medium saucepan over moderately high heat, heat butter and oil until hot but not smoking. Add chicken pieces and brown, turning occasionally, until golden, about 6 minutes. Transfer to slow cooker (do not clean pan), layering chicken on top of onion mixture.
In same saucepan over high heat, bring stock to simmer, scraping up browned bits from bottom of pan. Pour over chicken in slow cooker, cover, and cook on low until chicken is tender but not falling off bone, 5 to 6 hours.
Stir sour cream into sauce. Garnish with dill and serve.
this sounds awesome...Im making this this weeeek

I have made beef stew, pot roast, stuffed peppers and sauce in it so far. The sauce was the only one I wouldnt really recommend. It burned a little.
I tried the sauce once when stove ran out of propane on dh's bday dinner , I had no problem, but it does take a long time. My boss suggests using a bag liner, I didn;t do that though.

I just bought the bag liners. I really like them, especially since we don't have a dishwasher.
