That's really.... weird.

If it's 'gotten to be too much work' you scrap the idea and do something else, you don't tell the person the party was for.

That really sukcs. Id be annoyed and Id probably end up saying 'you know what, dont do me any favors, you already said its too much work for you so Im good, I dont need a surprise (but not a surprise anymore thanks to you) party. Thanks for the half gesture'
