How did you change your name
Did you use Miss now Mrs? Was it worth the $30?Or did you change it individually?
i just went on the Social Security website and it said to bring your Original Marriage Cert. i though I could do it all online.
This is too time consuming. I think I'm gonna stay as Wilson instead of Wyczawski. Even my new last name is complicated. LOL

I'm still waiting to go do this lol. i'm taking my sweet time...I need to first add my maiden name last name initial as my middle name initial and then change my name. I figure maybe sometime in 2012 I'll have it done

Re: How did you change your name
I first went to SS, and gave them my marriage license. Took 10 minutes. Then went to DMV, and changed my license and registration. Took about 45 minutes.
Then went to the bank and just gave them my marriage license.
I called to change my insurance, and CCs.

Re: How did you change your name
Is there a way to mail all your stuff to SS to change your name? If so, what do you need to send?I went online but they are not specific as to what is needed.

Re: How did you change your name
My friend used Ms Now Mrs and she said it was helpful and made it a lot easier. I guess it also helps to get it done all as once but I STILL haven't changed it with social security!

Maybe after your second wedding you can change it with SSI

Re: How did you change your name
i bought my sister the Miss now Mrs kit and she said it was a total waste, so i wouldn't bother spending the money on it.i brought my original marriage certificate with me to SS ( you have to go here first before you can change anything else) i went as soon as they opened and was there for less than 15 minutes.
then i went to the DMV and filled out the paperwork there and was there for less than ½ hour.
I spent less than 1 hour total and it was super easy! i got both, my new license and SS card in one week
