Is this a lil racist..or am I b!tchy?

A HS friend of mine posted a link to a FB page asking people to like it. She wrote,

'It's like a Groupon geared towards black families. They haven't officially launched yet, but you should 'Like' their FB page so you'll be among the first to know when they do! It promises to offer great deals!'

I was all set to like it and then I was like HEYYY wait a minute when I read it!!!

If I made a wesbite geared towards white people (and advertised it as such) I would be labeled a racist, wouldn't I?

Just sayin! I am tempted to make a snippy comment under her link. Maybe i shouldn't and just avoid the that would surely ensue!

ETA: maybe this post is also due to my lack of Starbucks and sheer jealousy geared towards all those who have had starbucks today!

what exactly is considered a 'black' thing to do? don't white AND black people go shopping and eat at restaurants?!

i dont think its racist

only because im sure ther are things that black families buy that others cant

such as certain hair products makeup and lotions

but what the heck do i know

I think it has become socially acceptable to market anything toward any ethic group except white people.

I think it's racist. If any website was directed toward white people everyone would cry racism. We have to remember it goes both ways.

ITA, it really depends on what they are selling. If it's just for retaurants, then that's kind of ridiculous. If anything, I think it's kind of odd and random for your friend to suggest it to you.

I can see both sides of this. Im more inclined to go with my first reaction, but I can def. see everyones points!
