need restaurant recos

1. Italian restaurant, preferably western queens or northern brooklyn. Nassau or Manhattan as well

2. Fun restaurant in Manhattan with music, preferably jazz or blues. Janis, I suggested garage (its for dad) which he loved but didn't like the band playing that night.

Italian in Manhattan:

Locanda Verde - I went in March for my birthday and it is wonderful - GREAT food (most importantly) and beautiful rustic decor! Only downside for some is that it is in Tribeca (this works well for us jersey folk)

Apizz - I have been suggesting this place for like 5 years and it is ALWAYS a hit! Same gem on the lower east side (ludow/rivington area). DELISH food in beautiful, small space!

An awesome Italian restaurant in Tribeca is Il Giglio .. Its a small, quiet restaurant and the food is AMAZING. The sister restaurant of Il Mulino.

1- williambsurg area - baci and abbraci (im sure i have the spelling wrong, but it translates to kisses and hugs). they have outdoor area too, brick oven pizza and yummy food

2 - cafe wha!!!!!!! its on mcdougal in the village. so fun.
