***NWQOTD WEDNESDAY, 10/6***
Good Morning! I woke up with back pain and before I could even complain, DH came in and asked me if I wanted a massage
. Such a nice guy, it's like he read my mind. Anyway, onto the question:****What were you like in high school? What stereotype(s) (if any) did you fall under, and what did you want to 'be when you grew up'? Are you still like that at all? What does your DH say he was like?****
I was in every musical group possible. I played the cello since I was 8, so I was in symphony, chamber, and pit orchestra. I also was in chorus, elective music classes, and a quartet (just for fun). Pretty geeky, but no one really teased me about that, thank goodness! I was kind of a floater and just talked to everyone; I would say the only 'group' i didn't have friends in were the jocks & cheerleaders. I wanted to major in performance and music business, and work for a company like the Save the Music Foundation. Creativity is still important to me, but I actually focus a lot more on writing (poetry) and have my degrees in Creative Writing, a minor in Music, and a grad degree in Student Affairs.
As for DH, he was a brainy guy (still is) but was a floater just like me. He was involved in every single organization--even musicals, which is weird to even fathom since he's tone deaf
. He wanted to be a pediatrician. During his last year of college though, he changed his major to Psychology and Philosophy. He now has his PhD in Social Psychology and is just as nerdy and sociable as ever
.

Re: ***NWQOTD WEDNESDAY, 10/6***
To be honest... I was a biotch, a mean girl, and a snot!... I was on cheerleading and in my school it was kind of a big deal LOL. I wasn't outright mean to anyones face but I was snobby and ran with the 'popular' crowd. Those days are gone though, I've grown up. Learned to appreciate people for who they are and not get caught up in the drama. I can't be bothered. LOL I'm still a social butterfly and I like that quality in myself so I guess that's one of the ways I am still the same.
DH was the meat head jock.. he won all kinds of superlatives from his school, best smile, most athletic... etc and he never lets me forget it.. so yea he's still the same tool he was back then
I love it about him though. lol

Re: ***NWQOTD WEDNESDAY, 10/6***
I was pretty much a combination of alot of things: I was on the cheerleading team, in honors/AP classes, but I could also be a bad@ss (I skipped class alot, etc). I just thought HS classes were too easy for me. As far as personality, I had a few different groups of friends..no issues with anyone, pretty much friendly with alot of different people, not definatly not 'popular' by any standards. Just average!

I was pretty much all around, but I was kind of a b!tch. I was on kickline/dance team, the softball team, the school plays, but I was also in National Honor Society, etc. The b!tch part came from my ex-boyfriend......he made me miserable, so I became a miserable person to everyone else.DH was nerdy for a while, and then a jock. Now he's nerdy again

I was the one who would show up for attendance and then leave for the city. I hung out with the hippies/stoners while they played acoustic guitar.I was a smart kid but showing up for tests just didn't cut it. I had to go to night school just to graduate on time.

Re: ***NWQOTD WEDNESDAY, 10/6***
I was just a typical high school girl. I had lots of different friends in different social circles, got ok grades. I was in the school plays and in chorus all through high school.......i loved to sing and still do
DH was a class clown and spent a lot of time in the principals office. A couple of years ago we were in a deli and his old hs principal was in there and totally remembered him (12 years later).........and it wasn't because of his stellar grades or unbelievable amount of school spirit as he claimed

Re: ***NWQOTD WEDNESDAY, 10/6***
In High School, i was in every show i could get in, captain of the JV cheerleading squad.... but my rep was for either the science geek or the girl everyone knew, but noone knew how, taking advance courses, started college between Junior and Senior year of high schoolIn High school, I wanted to be a broadway actress, or a nuclear pharmacist... (kid you not). now when I was 5 I wanted to be a Supreme Court Justice because 'think of the job security' (as my grandmother and mother loved to tell me)
DH was the geek, computer guy, kinda nerdy, wanted to be a scientist and wound up in computers.
Now I am a lawyer, and DH has a Degree in Bioscience research

Re: ***NWQOTD WEDNESDAY, 10/6***
I was totally a music/arty kid. Most of my friends were into that kind of stuff, and I tried really hard not to care about what people thought of me. Sometimes I did, but overall I just did whatever I wanted. When I was in high school I wanted to be either a teacher or a psychologist. I went with psychologist because I figured if I got my PhD and hated being a therapist I could always be a professor. It's working out for me so far!DH was sort of like me. He was in bands and stuff. Really into the local music scene (which is sort of how we met). I think he wanted to go into either physics or computers, he's doing computers now as his career.

Re: ***NWQOTD WEDNESDAY, 10/6***
I hung out with the goths and stoners lol. I was really quiet in high school actually... I'm in college now, and I'm still very quiet but I'm much different now. In high school, all I did was cut class and get stoned. I didn't care at all about anything except my boyfriend at the time and having fun. All of my friends were older than me and graduated already, so I didn't want to be in school. I had no ambition and I really didn't think about the future. Once I got rid of my dirtbag of a boyfriend, I got my sh*t together and although I was still doing the same things, I started to do better in school. I went to Suffolk first and decided I wanted to be an English major and now I attend St. Joseph's and will be graduating in just a few months with an awesome gpa. I think I just needed to be away from those people and that environment. I went through a rebellion stage really early to the point where I was breaking my parents hearts...
So it's obvious that I do NOT miss high school at all!DH just kinda floated around and hung out with everyone. He's really funny and chatty, so he had a lot of friends and he's actually part of the group that helped me get my life back on track. He loved high school - we met when I was in 10th grade and he was 2 months away from graduating.
