Quick! I need a good resturant suggestion- romantic!

for my 1st anniversary coming up in a week! My DH and I were going to go away for the weekend to celebrate it, but decided to save the money and go on a really nice trip in the spring.

I'm looking for a quiet/quaint/romantic resturant with great food! $$ can be expensive or not- I'm not too picky. The atmosphere and food is the most important thing. It can be anywhere on LI or in the city.

Portofino in the city on 63rd and 1st has really good Italian food.

It is AMAZING. Candles & rose petals all over the floor...makes you feel like you are in Europe and the food & service was spectacular. A bit pricey, but worth it!!!!!!!

Try doing a search on www.digitalcity.com I went to cilantro's in bayport/bluepoint. It was so romantic, the food was great too. I think they have a piano player on the weekend.

Oh I love trumpets! I think that may be a winner! Although it's tough with all the other choices. I like the resturant with the rose pedals all over. Hmmmm. Need to think more!

da'ugo on merrick ave. in rockville centre. my absolute favorite LI restaurant. also our first date restaurant!

northern italian. reservations are a must. it gets great reviews in zagats.

Blue Parrot in Roslyn village has really nice atmosphere.

There's a little french restaurant on 25A in Saint James - Mirabelle? I've heard FANTASTIC things about it!

I've been to Mirabelle in St James. I'm sure if you like REAL French food you'll ove it. Everyone raves about it. The food was just alittle to 'different' for my taste

I agree about Mirabelle. The ambiance is wonderful, but the food was a bit too heavy for me. If I were a fan of authentic French food, I would probably feel differently.

Candella in the city. Its in Union Square. The food is great and this is one of the most romantic restaurants I have been to.

Christine LOL! My anniversary is this coming Monday(10/20)! Youre a sweetie! I will let you know what I decide!

Mirrabelle is where my DH and I went for dinner after we got engaged. I grew up in St. James area and have always gone there with my family. It is definately great!

It's funny how you think there isn't much around that would interest you in great restruants until you ask and you see how many there are! There are many that I forgot about that used to be favorites of mine, but haven't gone there in a while.

I also have to add: Collins and Main in Sayville- if anyone is interested. That's another I forgot!

Thanks Ladies! I will let you know what I go with! I don't know yet and what the day will hold for me.
