So yesterday, I was holding DH's cousin's baby and my MIL said...

'I'm surprised he's okay with you holding him since you're, you know...different'

I said, 'different how?'

She said 'oh, you know...you don't look like him'

I said 'it's a good thing babies aren't born with pre-conceived notions and ingrained ignorance'

And then she insisted on taking a picture with DH...with DH holding the baby and MIL holding the outfits and toys we had purchased for the kiddo.

SAY CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSE!

Well. Ilana and I have shared many, many stories about our nightmare MILs...at the time, FMILs.

Anyway, toward the end of the reception, I was fairly buzzed and everyone was saying their goodbyes. I went up to her ILs (her FIL isn't bad, just the MIL) and was like 'oh what a great wedding! SO MUCH FUN! You must be so happy, what a beautiful affair!!! etc etc etc' laying it on T-H-I-C-K. She looked like she wanted to kill me by shooting lasers from her pupils.

She was polite about it...I mean, what can you do when some chick you don't know is offering you her congratulations and such?
