Who wants to hear my lovely Memorial Day morning drama?

We had people over Sunday and everyone left around midnight-ish. DH's friend slept over and the 3 of us went to sleep probably around 1. I wake up at 5 to go to the bathroom and get something to drink ? went back to bed and as I?m trying to fall asleep hear DH's friend's phone go off and he does something for work, then my phone alarm went off at 545 cause I forgot to turn off the Mon thru Friday thingee. So I turn it off and go back to the bedroom which was kinda warm so I opened the shades to let some air in. Jump back into bed and then hear this god awful sound ? sounded like some jalopy car that bottomed out and scraping the back on the road. I get up to look and see this white pickup truck that is now stopped in front of my neighbor directly across from me. I?m figuring it?s just some hooligans dropping someone off from a late night or what not. The back left tire is completely gone and just riding on the rim, back left headlight is broken and the gas tank lid is open and bent the wrong way. I then see one kid in a wife beater and jeans jump out the driver?s side window Dukes of Hazard-esque? yells at the guy in the passenger seat to get the F out of there. Driver proceeds to run to the back of the car and rip off the license plate and ran. The other kid runs around the back of my neighbors house. I called 911, told the cops everything and then waited for them to come. Marked car came up behind the car and then drove off, 30 seconds later an unmarked car came up. Me, DH and his friend went outside and talked with the cops and my neighbor. Upon further inspection of the car we notice that the right rear tire?s axel is broken, the whole right side of the car has a dent in it from fender to fender, front fender is completely missing and the front right tire is torn to shreds. Before I called 911 I saw a car coming down our block that stopped and yelled at the kids. That guy then came back when the cops arrived. Turns out the white pickup hit a parked car and then a house about 20 blocks away in Queens. We had 3 Floral Park cop cars and 1 NYPD cop car in front of our house. NYPD then came and towed the car away.

I don't think we'll ever find out if it was a stolen car or a drunken hit and run. But it was quite unnerving!!!!

Talk about an adventure! I hope they find these kids and lock them up!!!

WOW! Sounds like some idiots stole a car and went joyriding! I hope they get caught!

i'm not sure how that car was still driving with so many parts missing and/or broken!!!

For their sake it was a miracle - but it probably wasn't going to last much longer with the noises it was making. I should have taken pictures of the car.
